Torturing Teddies: French Rev

My friend and I made this ^^

People ask why we torture Teddy Grahams
We tell them it's just our thing

It's not the most beautiful or well crafted cake in the world; all of my cake decorating stuff is at home in Georgia (I'm visiting my friend in Florida), so I had to improvise. Btw, the Betty Crocker frosting that comes already dyed in a tube? Sucks. Impossible to work with that crap ><

But, what we lacked in technique I think we definitely made up for in creativity.

Aside from the obvious cake and frosting we also used...
Teddy Grahams
Orange Twizzlers
Tootsie Rolls
Chocolate covered peanuts
Pretzel rods
Chocolate
Lots of red food dye


Just take a look! We have the guillotine, a basket for the heads, a canon, a ditch to bury the bodies, and lots of blood. And "Let them eat cake" written in the frosting with blood (aka food dye) (top right photo)
Plus, on the side we have the French Revolution motto: Liberty, Equality, Fraternity
Liberté, égalité, fraternité
(just realized we have it in the wrong order, dammit!

I thought the way the blood dripped through the middle of "fraternity" was a very nice touch. We didn't even do that on purpose, just sorta happened. Awesome, right?


Next time we're going to do a Colosseum scene!
