To be bound by the will of another, willingly,
Is to give your self up to trust
Is to relax the muscles of defensiveness
To soften the armour against the world
Is to release new power from the places hidden in our darkest fears
Is to open the petals of invitation to a new identity
To be released from the bindings of everyday pleasures
Is to discover a new world of pleasure in the everyday
Is to worship in a temple of indulgences from beyond history
To give up the struggle to live
Is to dive into the well between words and eat of a new apple tree
Is to feel the freedom to dance naked before your enemy and god
To lie with your darkest fantasies
Is to live with the reality of who you can be
Is to live with the unbounded truth of who you want to be
To reach for power
Is to discover limitation
Is to submit to its freedom.

I was inspired to put this up by two beautiful bondage shots [link] by ~donsirphotography and this [link] which is just glorious by = photoswithattitude. I read this to some non-fetish friends and it inspired a great conversation about love. They had no idea what I was talking about when I wrote it. It was so gratifying to feel I had written something that had enough depth to have such different meanings to different people. It is what I'm aiming for in my work.
