Page one, complete! Or, rather, pages 1-4. I've had this finished for a while, but I've been using each individual page as vote incentives for my comic Shades of Grey. I think I'll have to start posting pages two-at-a-time there, because I've got 14 pages scripted out and if I only post two a week, I don't think I'll make the deadline!
This has been a lot of fun to work on. I took some liberties with Srug and the Dark Lord, which I hope
will forgive me for. They're just such fun characters that I couldn't help but want to draw them. And yes, Srug is supposed to pick contestants, but frankly the only one who'd pick Frost for this tournament would HAVE to be INSANE. The Dark Lord fit that requirement, so I decided to have him steal the mirror for a bit. Stealing is evil, right?
Okay, so he's a little bumbling, but he's been cursed into being a Bumbling Villain! It's just...gah, how can you NOT want to write that? With SoG I spend so much time with characters that are villains-but-not-villains that it's just wonderfully refreshing to write a character that is just straight up EVIL but only in the worst way possible. I can't wait to show you the second set of this, because it has one of my favorite lines I have ever written, spoken by the Dark Lord. Ah...so epic.
I decided that this mirror could allow the viewer to not only peek at other worlds, but also move through time. This made things interesting for me because it allows me to take us through a lot of Frost's facets in a short period. Throughout the course of the script, we're shown Frost from worst to best. Here he starts at his most extreme, the Bad Man, unapologetically cruel. Then we move into how he is with his own subjects, which is generally fair, but uncompromising. Over the course of the intro, we'll see softer sides of him. I've never had the chance to unfold a character like this! It's been a fantastic exercise for me.

I absolutely adore the way you write your characters. I can't wait to see what else Frost is capable of.
