12a. Fredrick's Date: Part 1

     It was a sunny day in the suburbs outside of Amsterdam where the birds are singing and the people go out to do their normal rounds. The small flats are nice and roomy and all is right with the world. that is except for the guy who lives down at 1440 Minelstraat (Minel Street). There lives Fredrick Deolan he's your typical unusual everyman who loves long drives, takes up paintings for a hobby even makes a few bucks in commissions but what he loves to do is to explore the world of the strange and usual and even more so take his time in chat rooms that deal with magic and sorcery as discussed by the so-called "real" experts. But there are a few things that only Fredrick himself holds close and dear, and that is a poster-sized photograph of Launa Viander riding across the sky in her monster motorbike. Fredrick isn't your off-the-edge stalker/loser like the ones Launa has a "rap sheet" on. Instead, he is more of the type that keeps a healthy relationship.

     He goes to the shows featuring The Dark Kat Racing Company Fredrick screams the loudest in joy when they show off their large, hulking humanoid mascot riding hard down the road and performing tricks and stunts that seemed impossible to even the most seasoned professionals. Fredrick completely loved her for that. In most of the 'mystic' chat rooms he wouldn't shut up about her when ever one of Launa's exploits comes up on the table but he really tries to keep it down to a minimum. At night, when he sleeps at night he can dream all the possible things he can do with his "mighty black maiden" even embracing a soft kiss just mere seconds before the soul-shattering buzz of the alarm clock wakes him up and snaps him back to reality.

     One day while walking down the street he was just doing his normal errands and comes across a telephone poll that will soon change his life forever. He dropped everything that he has in his hands and runs to the pole, why? A special poster declaring news about Jennifer Aslan, the key member of Dark Kat Racing Company is participating a special event in which at the end of the day, will enter into a "day-date" charity auction For Fredrick, if he had the money participating would give him the ultimate chance to spend the day with Jennifer Aslan. But most trained minds already know that who ever wins the auction is swear to spend the day with the legendary trickster. But sadly the financial reality can't even cover bus fare let alone the cost to even set foot twenty feet within the auction.

     Fredrick walks home disappointed that he will never get to meet her fantasy woman. But when finally making it home carrying what is left of his stuff. A mysterious man popped in front of Fredrick, nearly scaring him and dropping his stuff again. Briefly apologizing for his little scare and briefly introduces himself as 'Leeyway Ansen'. A bit of a anti-philanthropist; described as a person who likes to help people but in a way that his dealings can be kept secret and out of the books for a noble cause. In this case is to help Fredrick with what he wants and make sure it happens. Leeyway asks him of what he wants in a day though he has just met him the young man answered him with wanting to go to the charity auction to see Jennifer Aslan. Leeyway saw the expression on his face and the look of his eyes revealing to him that is just half of what he wants. Fredrick admitted he did and it was to meet and even win a the day-date with Jennifer Aslan. Giving a soft smile he is glad that the boy told him the truth and proposed that he will help him with the auction and even win the date.

     Fredrick is excited before the weight of doubt hit his head like a speeding freight train to question why he would even do such a thing for a stranger and why should he even trust him or his deed. Leeyway answered him back. It was that people like him deserve a special chance in life and for Fredrick, it was high time for him to get his even if it is for one measly day. Fredrick was right about his reasoning considering that this woman never had a single shot to settle with fans, take interviews or even be spotted by the paparazzi it was a miracle that she didn't go crazy from the fame even under her human forms. It was about time for her and him to get this chance; As fast as Fredrick said yes the plans were in motion for him to place himself in seating for the charity auction. Fredrick happily shakes the stranger's hand they parted ways but Leeyway smiled in a curiously deviant manner as he leaves into the darkness.

     The following night, the stage was set and charity auction was on. Fredrick was dressed up nice for the event and ready to make his bid at a moment's notice. He was both getting a great sense of jubilation but also nervousness as he finally get a chance to meet Jennifer (Launa) once and for all. As much as that feeling can say backstage between Launa and her boyfriend Rolo. They have been dating for more than a year now and already he's developing the protective feelings for her that's on the verge of annoying. However. Launa firmly reminds him that she wanted to do this as a way for a good cause and seriously reminded him as she picked up a heavy steel rod, thick as a soda bottle and bends the heavy rod until it snaps in two. A showing of what happen to her charity date if he tries to go wrong with her. Rolo later reluctantly agrees as soon as they finally call out the lades of the auction and they both kissed off.

     For nearly an hour, girl after beautiful girl were sold off to the highest bidder from amounts less than a thousand to others worth over fifty thousand. Then came the moment this fanatic was waiting for; The arrival of Jennifer Aslan the former president of the Dark Kat Racing company, professional bodybuilder and most importantly the trickster he loves in a human disguise. The auctioneer marked Aslan off wit the starting bid of ten thousand dollars. Fredrick made his id but then another called up twenty-thousand dollars. The Auctioneer called up that amount and Fredrick called in thirty five thousand Jennifer was slightly impressed and she stepped in to see who can out bid him. That came when a traveling sheik wants her or over nine hundred thousand dollars. The crowd was shocked to hear such an amount on her but then Fredrick calls in four and a half million dollars. In a furor the sheik was about to make his call but he suddenly got a Charlie horse that prevented him from making his bid and by the rules the bidder must stand to confirm the bid.

     Looking around to see any last minute takers the only thing in the crowd was shocked faces and bidders who can't top Fredrick;s amount. With a final count and a strike of the gavel, Fredrick has won what he wanted for a long time a date with the Legendary trickster goddess herself. Walking up to the stage he finally comes face to face with the woman he closely worshiped as a goddess but without embarrassing her he remained calm and presented his salutations which impressed Jennifer but made Rolo sick to see the comparison. A scrawny geek that looks like he hasn't moved out of his mom's basement since age five next to a woman who without a second thought, deserves better.

     The announcer finally ends the auction and calls all the bidders to pay little anyone realizes that from the entrance stood Leeyway smiling devilishly as is sudden plan is in motion. He may have lost nearly four million on her but it will be worth it when the time comes and he has pathetic little Fredrick to thank.
