Literature Text
My dearest youth,
There is so much I would like to tell you, but I shall try to fit it all into this letter. First, the obvious. Live life to the fullest, keep your friends close, and laughter really is the best medicine.
And now, a look into the future. With dull brown hair and tired looking eyes, you're certainly not the most beautiful, nor most popular. You do, however, have a few close friends. You're shy, quiet, and not as carefree as you are while reading this message. You will be teased, tormented even, but don't let it trouble you. Your future is bright, and there will be those special moments that show you how wonderful this world really is. But now I'm just getting ahead of myself. I wouldn't want to ruin it for you, although it really is the journey that matters most, even if you don't yet know your final destination.
I would like to share with you now a grave truth. Life is not fair, despite what parents try to tell you. I believe it is something every person should know, no matter their age, whether they're a girl or a boy, or even where they come from on this vast planet. Good guys do sometimes finish last, but most do complete this race we call life, not always placing first, but just finishing the race is enough to be proud of how far they have come, looking back on their best and worst moments, and learning from them.
It is now time for me to complete this letter, for it has gone on far too long, but just one final thought before I leave you to live your life. Don't let anybody tell you what to do, who to be, or what to believe. Just because you cannot see it, doesn't mean you can't believe it. Just like music drifting in the air, love is invisible, but everywhere. Live in the present, remember the past, and fear not the future, for it doesn't exist and never shall. There is only now.
With love,
Julia Rae

Tragedy
Splash around my fallen tears,
Freshly streaked from my cheeks,
Silver and sleek. Pale and meek.
Silver like a blade's insensitive edge.
As cold as granite stone.
Inside I am slowing approaching the ledge.
Where I can finally love being alone.
Pale opals encased in icy blues.
Numb scales contain my veins.
I'm happy knowing I'll loose.
What it is you will never choose.
You will always look me in the eye.
Just to speak of an insolent lie.
Of Like and Love.
It's a mystery you can't solve.
A tragedy in black and gray.
Ringing the tears from your sleeves.
You stare at me and make your leave.
Stern like an ocean.
walk away with no emotion.

A letter you'll never read
To my love
The sound of bullets is your lullaby, as you lie awake thinking of everything but me. You're blood thirsty, trigger happy; you love the rotation of a helicopter blade, and the way the locals avert their eyes when you walk by. The sun blazing down on your back and a dead body at your feet is all you need to feel alive, because home is where the heart is, and you have neither.
Your baby is a killer, a cold, steel weapon of devastation clutched against your chest, and you adore it, as though you didn't have a child to love back home, waiting. She cries all day and all night you know, sometimes inwardly sometimes outwardly but none o

Closest To Home
The sun passes through the curtains of clouds,
To say goodbye for another night to fall.
To sit on the porch of the rugged cabin,
Is to feel at ease with the breezy wind.
I watch as the mistress night's veil,
Conquers the world for yet another time.
As Shiva's children bless the air with a,
Blessed, loving chill. Hot chocolate to sip.
As my lips get covered in whipped cream.
The stars blanket the night sky,
Quilting the desires and dreams,
Of Those who are alive, so they too,
Can have a chance to thrive.
The breezy wind slows and the moon
Begins to glow incandescently upon my
Relaxed reality. In this realm, relaxation blooms,

I love that idea. Actually I think I might like to write a letter to my younger self too! You are really great at writing. I am half a sleep at the moment so, I can't really think of any other way to express how much I love this letter than to tell you that I am sitting here half asleep with my nose running at 1:00 am telling you how much I love this letter! Big time fave from me!
