After repeatedly knocking my head to the wall going from one experiment to the other and trying different starting fractals, colouring algorithms and parameters, I finally got a sweet fractal butterfly almost by chance. It was such a pleasant sight it reminded me of purity and spiritual elevation, an unstained moral integrity. Stainless innocence.

A truly interesting UltraFractal piece by a very promising new artist. I am always amazed to see new fractalists grow and learn, and I really have to admit that *heavenriver got very awesome results in a very short time! This is a clear sign of natural talent!

First of all, we have a great composition here. Everything is well balanced, the flow is pleasant to look at and there's a nice game of symmetrical-asymmetrical structure. The viewer is invited to follow the butterflies' flight from the bottom to the top of the image, raising with them to the skies. I find this wonderful.

The butterflies are very well designed, they remind me of majicou's ones. I always wondered how to get such awesome shape, and I still can't tell. They also look like they're painted. The most awesome feature of this piece, in my opinion, is the gorgeous dreamy glow at the border of the wings, where they fade in the background: you can define the shape, but can't tell exactly where it starts or ends.

The color scheme is quite typical of heavenriver: lilac, blue, purple, butter-white. I think a little more contrast could have helped this piece to enhance the flow of the shapes and make them more visible: e.g. a darker or lighter center of the insects, a slight chromatic difference/contrast between the subjects and the background, or a slight texture to detatch them soflty from the background. Maybe the risk is to harm the ethereal appeal of the whole image, but it could also help to make it more defined and appreciable at first sight.

On the other hand, another way to get such result is to emphasize the "plastic" relief of the butterflies' wings, that already creates a nice and pleasant highlights contrast, especially when displayed in fullview. This is another detail I really appreciate and would accentuate, it makes the little creatures look like silky magic ribbons, made for angels' hair.

A charming magical piece dear, I'm really impressed! Can't wait to see your next ones!
