Build: Built like a wild thing and a tank. We'll have to clip him constantly if we don't want his feathers and mane to take him over. He runs like a tank, or possibly a rhinoceros. He can be convinced to pull it together and act disciplined, but only if his concentration is maintained.
Notes: We try to breed rather than making starter horses, but we couldn't breed this guy from the existing horses on HARPG for the lack of cream dilutes.

Notes:Gulblakk is a stunningly rare color (considering chestnuts only make up 5% of the breed and cream dilutes less than 3% total this is unsurprising) in fjords. We were unbelievably lucky to get a stallion of this quality in this color. His previous owner only decided to get rid of him because he unexpectedly threw a "kvit" foal. Kvit (literally white, actually cremello/perlino/smokey black) is a very undesirable and unregister-able color in fjords. Blue eyed horses are seen as weak and not possessing the striking characteristic primitive dun of the breed (in reality it is there but not visible). Generally gulblakk horses are not bred to other gulblakk (palomino dun) or ulsblakk (buckskin dun) to avoid kvit foals. However, dark buckskin duns look an awful lot like light bay duns some times, and it appears he was bred to one unknowingly. Cream dilutes are so rare in the breed they are not always recognized or expected, so throwing a kvit foal was seen as a serious mistake.

We like him based on his fiery, scrappy personality (sometimes excessively stallion-like), his large tank-like build and his desire to never stop pushing forward. We're going to keep an eye on that kvit foal of his, and try to buy them if they turn out half as athletic and active as he is. Plus, that would go a long way towards our goal of representing every fjord color in our growing little herd, even unregisterable!
