EPIC FAIL

Natural selection folks, it works wonders. The guy had almost ten minutes till his train arrived, stupid idiot... Also, I almost shit my pants when the driver leaned on the horn. At least the train had just stopped, after crawling into the station, only to accelerate again as the signal turned green. Shot at Rheyd Central Station, during yesterday's tour.

The locomotive in question, as made obvious by colour and appearance, is not something you usually see from me. It's an Austrian ÖBB class 1042, built in 1968, now owned by the Centralbahn AG. They run many nostalgia trains around here, and also own the two Swiss electrics from 1946.




This loco here has an all-over ad for Gera Mond, a well known publisher here in Germany, very active in the railroad magazine business. The writing on the front "Die schönsten Seiten der Eisenbahn" is a play on words, as it means "The nicest aspects of railroading", but could also be interpreted as "The nicest pages about railroading", referring to magazine pages of course.
