Literature Text

Please don't look me in the eyes with sorrow sewn upon your lips. It's going to take much more than venom to keep me out of the mess I've gotten fixed in.

You've got fingers wrapped around my limbs, nails cutting inches deep into my skin. Oh my, love! If this isn't a slow death: I'm breathing in the toxins you breathe out all because I'm afraid to let you go, afraid to see you go. If you were to leave, then where would that leave me?

Keep those brown eyes held up high; if you smile at me one more time I'll let all of this go. Could you walk on water one last time before you kiss me goodnight? Dance into the sky, beneath all of the bleeding stars, and show the moon whose face has two sides.

Please don't look me in the eyes. Leave the venom in the car and drive well into the night, and I'll turn around, run and pretend to go back to what we were before I met those starlit eyes underneath the intersection of towering green trees.

Strangers beneath a shaded sun.

In a collaboration of sorts with ~romantic-revenge, I'll be uploading pieces that correspond with her Photo-A-Day Project.
