Literature Text

Take a vile trip, so inhibitions slip
Let glass tip for a sanguine sip
When selfish gain is like cocaine
The world's an insane, twisted plane

Our lives are lies spent for blue skies
We feel torment from each surprise
No matter what our minds stay shut
It's all easy if life's a rut

Another breeds, another dies
Another seeds what could be wise
The world of noise silences the free
Hiding away whom we could envy

Red is running from wall to wall
Man still disbelieves he could fall
Why must we all impede and stall
At this massive masquerade ball?

You can join with the rare who quit
And clean up the mess a little bit
But the dancing floor holds much more
And entrants build your endless chore

So grab a drink to help you think
While madness teeters on the brink
We have strong rules to stay such fools
Despite the blood at our ankles pools

You aren't to blame for the world we know
It's not our fault change comes slow
So sit still, swallow another pill
Hope for high ceilings in the ball we fill
...

Your work is entirely genius and true to real life! And despite what others say about rhyming not being important int poetry; I really love when poem has a catchy rhyme it really makes it all that much more fun to read. :) Although, as far as critique goes I would suggest some punctuation just because it helps ppl know how and where exactly you want the pauses or breaks the lines. The words are true like I said early but I don't personally think drinking and popping pills are the answer to lifes problems, but I see so many other people do just that and I see how it ruins their lives in the end and causes the most regret.
