Pokepalace: Aram the Articuno

History: Aram’s childhood name was Arran (ah-RAHN, not pronounced like Aaron!), and he was raised alongside Prince Castor as his whipping boy. (That’s not kinky, go look it up if you don’t know what it is! OTL) Arran’s childhood was hard but much better than it would have been had he been outside the royal family. For this the boy was grateful, putting up with the punishment in exchange for the privilege. Arran grew to be a kindhearted boy, never hating his prince for getting him in trouble. The constant punishment did however teach him to become righteous-minded and respectful of rules and order. At a young age he rescued a baby pidgey which became his companion pokemon until he bonded with Articuno. Besides Castor, Arran was childhood friends with the younger prince, Caine, and Prince Elkeid of Persephoneia’s sister kingdom, Elpis, whose royal parents were close friends with the monarchy of Persephoneia.
     When Arran was 13, the King and Queen of Persephoneia had a disagreement with the King and Queen of Elpis about which form of government to use. Both had been religious monarchies up to that point, but while Elpis wanted to move on to a parliamentary system, Persephoneia swayed more towards theocracy. The argument grew heated enough to spark a war which pitted the sister kingdoms against each other. The Arcean Division, as it came to be known, lasted a total of 7 years. During the first year of the war Prince Elkeid bonded with the legendary Mew, throwing the war into Elpis’ hands. Persephoneia struggled to keep up, and Arran was moved to join in the war effort. He took up arms and left for the battlefield, although he would have been safe in the castle as Castor’s whipping boy.
     Beginning as a common soldier, Arran climbed the ranks with his prowess in the field and his growing reputation as a compassionate, yet effective commander. Even so, Persephoneia continued to lose the war. At one point Arran and Castor saw Elkeid on the battlefield, and after witnessing Mew’s power, they determined that they must also find their own legendaries if they were to win the war. When Castor found Jirachi and wished for peace, Arran was able to convince Articuno to bond with him in order to balance out the war.
     Upon joining with Articuno he was promoted to High Commandant of the Persephoneian military, changing his name from the childhood ‘Arran’ to his adult name, Aram. After a series of brief power struggles between the two kingdoms, Jirachi’s wish was fulfilled within the year and the Treaty of Narcissus was signed, ending the war.
     Post war, Aram remained in charge of the main military force. Command of the Elementalist job class is divided between him and the eldest child of the royal family, Moltres’ Wilhelmina, who continued to uphold law and order as she did during the war.
     Some say Aram once had a wife and children, though as is the case with many legendary bonders, few dare to ask about loved ones long gone in a legendary’s long life...

- Arran is his CHILDHOOD name, and childhood friends often fondly call him this. As his childhood will have been at least 1000 years ago in the RP, not many people will call him by this name.
- He used his pidgey/pidgeot/pidgeotto, Pandion, up until the time he bonded with Articuno. He joined the war as an air soldier (which would be the Courier class, in peacetime) but became an Elementalist upon his bonding.
- Since bonding he has harbored an intense fear of losing his loved ones and being left alone, though it was somewhat minimized once all 3 of his siblings bonded with legendaries and also became immortal. He comforted himself with the thought that at least they would always have each other, even if everything else they knew and loved faded away. 
- He didn't know Mel (Wilhelmina) very well as a child due to her being 12 years older; but after receiving the office of High Constable, their similar stations, work ethic, and shared command of the Elementalists resulted in a mutual respect.
- Aram is a melee class ice Elementalist: his signature weapon is an ice spear/staff/trident thing, though he can do other attacks not involving his weapon.
- The only parts of his weapon that have to be physically carried are the metal prongs that reinforce the blades' connection to the staff and the ribbon, which he uses to tie the thing to his waist or something. XD
- His wings are not always present: they sometimes seem to be made of ice and can be summoned at will. Additionally, the shapes of the feathers tend to change according to his mood.
- His hair floats - the longer it is, the more floaty. Its length seems to vary as well (secretly because I'm inconsistent, shhh), as it shares some of the same magical properties as his wings thanks to Articuno.
- When he was newly bonded he once got irritated with his hair being so long and tried to cut it, but to his dismay its length didn't change and the cut-off bit turned into snow. It seems as if Articuno insists on its tail being manifested at all times!
- This is his battle outfit (his hair's not generally that messy. >_>)
- Accent-wise, his speech would be somewhere between an British accent and some eastern European one.
- Aram's VA would be Troy Baker! Thanks to everyone on Perse chat for helping me decide. :> Singing voice~
