Costume notes

Wig - i hand sewed 40 inch wefts i had left over from a commissions i did about a year ago into a spare wig that matched the colour of the wefts perfectly. The whole wig was curled with the hot water method and the bangs were cut while wearing the wig the morning of the convention.

Hat - Bought a black cowboy hat from Ebay, they sent me a brown one so i dyed it and attached new studs. no problem ~

Necklace - Im so proud of the necklace it was the first thing i made. I bought two necklaces from K-mart and ripped them apart for the 8 leave charms, the centre part of the necklace was a ring with a faux pearl that i painted red. The other 4 parts of the necklace were made from washers and beads, stung on a strip of leather. The necklace was the most expensive part of the costume.

Jacket - orz I finished the jacket off a few hours before i had to fly out to the convention. I drafted the pattern from the vest and extended it. The collar and cuffs were made from a fluffy baby blanket because 3 fabric stores didn't have wool or fur fabric FML. I think the baby blanket trims looks better than the wool or fur would. C:

Vest - I first made the vest in blue but then went back and looked at more reference photos and found it was actually purple so i pulled apart the test sleeve from my Seymour Guado Final Fantasy X cosplay and quickly remade it from that.

Chaps - I have no idea what fabric i used to make them the fabric store doesn't label anything :/ The bottom half had to be hand dyed twice, it hardly worked the first time. The patches on the knees where done in the off cuts from the jacket and i satin stitched them onto the pants.

Gun - This is the in-game default shotgun/rifle. The base is made from pine wood and the wooden panels are balsa wood, stained brown. The barrels are PVC pipes and the hammer and trigger were made from craft foam. I bought a jigsaw and sander just so i could made this prop. YAY for never having to borrow power tools ever again. 8D
