Literature Text

Your love makes me smile every day as I know that
it is true and pure and I don't ever want it to go away.

Blue skies and birds singing make me smile unconditionally
as the gentle breeze ruffles through my hair on a sunny day.

Oh how the rain lures me into a trance when it falls on a metal roof,
it serenades me into sleep while the white lines keep passing by.

Board games on a snowy winter evening is what is needed to keep
the spirits high and the laughter echoing off of the silent walls.

Cords are all a tangle as the floor becomes a trap at 5:30 in the morning
while one kitten tries to be a butt-head and plays with tying shoelaces.

Sweat drips off of our sweat-sticky bodies as the heater is turned up and
there are two blankets on top of us, but we are happy regardless of the heat.

One life together, so let's make it count, through the rain, sleet, snow
and hail, making love and laughter together as day and night blend.
Ghazal's rhyme. Mine doesn't. The rhyme scheme is too complicated for me to even attempt to rhyme it.

How did I do for what essentially ended up to be a semi-unrelated poem of couplets?

Well, I don't know anything about Ghazal's, but I thought it was all lovely :)

There's a little type in this line though, "it serenades me into sleep while the while lines keep passing by."
