Stamp Template

I've been making lots and lots of stamps now using $zilla774's wonderful template. I will probably continue to do so, but I decided that I should try my hand at making my own template in an effort to give new stamps my own flair.

In creating the template, I still wanted to keep most of the elements common to Deviant stamps - 99 × 56 dimensions, diagonal lines, a slight reflectiveness, and a fringed border, to name a few. More than that, I wanted to create a stamp with something of a professional elegance that would draw people's attention. The font used in this stamp is Verdana. And the preview doesn't really show it well, but the border does contain appropriate transparency that conforms to the rules of most stamp groups.

A few words of caution - making the stamp color lighter will make the "scan" lines more visible, so bear that in mind when changing the color.

Note to GIMP users:

I did include a .xcf file in the download, but I have used GIMP a total of maybe two times in my entire life, so I honestly had no idea what I was doing. I make no promises on how easy it will be to work with, and I know it looks different than the psd version, so I included a separate preview for it.

Note to Mac OS users:

This was created in Photoshop 7.0 on a computer running Windows 7. While I doubt there will be much difference in opening the file from a Mac computer, I thought it might be worth mentioning.

Note to everyone:

Feel free to use this template for whatever stamps you like. Only two rules: First, this was made for the benefit of DeviantArt users - please do not use this outside of DeviantArt. Second, please mention my username in the Artist Comments of whatever stamps you make with this. It can be as simple as just saying "Template by *HarmonicSonic." I just want anybody interested in stamping to know of the resources available to them. (I don't require this, but it'd also be nice if you tell me you're using it - I love to see all the different stamps that people make!)
