Literature Text

Wildlings are the Protectors of Driare. They strive to understand and know about those whom they share life with. Their interest, both individually and as a guild, in species of the world is broad, too much so that many decide to concentrate solely on species related to their patron guardian. Therefore, the guild is able to compile a great deal of information simultaneously from all over the world. As a result, the Wildlings have the most complete and detailed species compendiums throughout Erandur. Many journey far to their libraries in pursuit of such knowledge. Through these studies are they able to gain further insight into the ways of Ioe'Teyral. There are even tales of people who were able to read and predict its patterns.

Wildling - Wildlings believe that all creatures are bound to their own respective realms and places. The most advanced and civilized species were destined to become so and that all of them have a patron guardian animal, called a Totemori. These creatures weave Ioe'Teyral, the fabric of life. All creatures on Erandur deserve respect and are connected to one another through the Ioe'Teyral. In order to achieve spiritual understanding, they seek to discover its patterns and how the pieces fit together. To aid them in their quest, many enter into a blood pact, similar to the Paragon's Laieutenae. However, there is less freedom in that one may only enter into a pact with their respective guardian animal. Together they form a bond of nature that is thought to help fulfill their rightful place in the world. Their thirst for this knowledge leads many to a very austere lifestyle as a means to connect with and understand nature and His guardians.

Each species as their own, even those who do not practice their fayth are said to have one.To honor them the design forms the shape of an animal’s paw. The center pattern represents their belief in the fabric of life, the weave of existence, that all things past and present connect, each playing its part as of the whole.

This scroll, written by Animist Gagluk Swaprkeig introduces us to the Guild of Wildlings, those who worship Driare, the Goddess of the animals. They are one of many guilds in my fantasy realm, Erandur. It is a long work in progress, but putting things up gives me more motivation to create so there it is! Hope you enjoy!
