Nicki - Part 3

Portrait of my girlfriend that I'm working on.

This is the third stage of what will eventually be a full digitally painted portrait. This is the incomplete first layer of paint over the initial sketch (Done in PS) and is actually the third time I've done this step of the portrait so far. As you can probably tell, this is a very long process that is made even longer by my lack of experience (I've never painted a portrait before :/ ).

I tried using *yuni 's coloring technique, found here [link] , for skin tone but didn't like how it was turning out. I think I may have missed something and wasn't able to get the result that I wanted, so you may find it handy. I'll probably use the technique at some point for something with a less complex color range than skin tone.

When I returned to my previous layer in Part 2, I really didn't like the tone and found ~navate 's skin tutorial, [link] , pretty useful. I think this one looks much better.
