The Imperial Federation

" It was through the cooperation, and efforts made at the first colonial conference, that the Imperial Federation was allowed to come about.
On December 23rd of 1889, each of The British Empire's remaining dominions/colonies/protectorates convened in Westminster, in hopes of solidifying the crumbling empire. After over a week on negotiations, debate, and discussion, the newly formed Imperial Parliament officially signed what became known as "The Act of Imperial Federation" on January 1st, 1890 (Drawing Inspiration from that of the United North American States, and The Great Habsburg Empire).
This has come to be known as one of the great turning points in the Age of Imperialism."

A little narrative there, thought i'd might as well write something creative lol. Anyway, this is another Map in my Habsburg Series, a locator Map of the British Imperial Federation.

The time period is somewhere from the Mid to Late 19th Century.

A little bit of Background information to make some sense of Canada and so on (just in case):

-A much less loyalist Canada joins the United States in its war for independence, and subsequently gains its independence, and in 1784, signs the "North American Act of Union" (or simply Act of Union for Short) and merges with the fledgling United States
to form the United North American States. (either that or U.S. attempts to annex/invade canada during the revolution succeed, and Canada becomes apart of the U.S., i don't really know which one to choose).

-The War of 1812 breaks out between the United States and Great Britain, with the help of Napoleonic France, and the looming threat of an American counter attack, leaves Britain with the only option to sue for peace.

-The treaty of Ghent is signed on the 24th of December, 1814.
The major Points of the Treaty were as such:
*Status quo Ante Bellum
*Except land owned by the Hudson Bay Company was to be forfeited to the American Government (but would still be allowed to function freely on said land in the interests of Britain, and its trade), and in turn the United North American States would give monetary compensation to Britain for the "exchange of ownership." The amount came to about $25 million.

-With the Rebellion of Canada in 1784, and the loss of Rupert's Land in 1812, confidence in the Empire's Unity and Ability to protect its own borders was deeply shaken (ultimately leading to the great support and success, Empire wide, for the "Act of Imperial Federation").

-Due to the Federation of All of Britain's Imperial Territories, and all her armies, her Navy has become the foremost power in the world, only rivaled by that of the Habsburgs, and Americans.

-Federation and fair representation of all incorporated Territory has seen a decrease in radical separatist movements Empire. wide.
