It was all burning. The little tents of the small Tribe was burning in the black night. Clouds covered the stars and moons as the human soldiers clad in their bloody armor ransacked the Tribe. The half human-half wolf Tribespeople also known as Hroos fought back weakly, but with no armor, no swords or any other more effective weapon than a knife there was no chance. And to top it off it was a surprise attack.
The leader of the human soldiers rode into the slaughter surrounded by his personal guard on his chestnut steed with a wicked grin showing from his helmet as he yelled:"Kill all of them!"
Suddenly a Hroo of seventeen years stumbled forward next to the leader through his soldiers ranks. He was almost as black as the night illuminated by the fires and had a dark brown cloak on hiding his face and most of his body.
The leader raised his sword to cut the Hroo down, but when he slashed down the Hroo jumped back dodging the sword. The sword tip cut the edge of the cloaks hood and the Hroo threw it back snarling:"You bastard! I just bought this cloak!"
The sword hadn't only cut the hood, but also had scratched the Hroos face a little and now the leader could see his face. There were red markings on the Hroo as if he had stood in front of someone who had been gutted and the blood had spattered on the boy and stayed.
The leader slashed at the Hroo again angrily this time, but the boy grabbed the leaders sword arm with blinding speed and yanked him off of the horse which skittered aside neighing fearfully as the leader dropped the sword.
Some of the soldiers had turned now to help their leader and the Hroo bared his pointed fangs at them before letting go of their leader just when he suddenly burst into flames. The soldiers jumped back in fear yelling as the Hroo watched with cold furious yellow eyes as the man screamed while he burned.
The horse reared screaming its fear and dashed out of the camp as fast as it could while the other Hroos followed its example by fleeing just when an adult male Hroo stepped out of one of the burning tents unharmed yawning:"Farram you're being cruel again. Kill him already."
Farram glared at the other Hroo angrily and then with an angry snort held up his hand towards the leader. Then he curled it into a fist as the fire flared up obscuring the leader from sight and when the Hroo dropped his hand the leader had vanished leaving his armor and sword behind. Coals glimmered there where the screams had vanished moments before and the remaining soldiers edged away fearfully.
The other Hroo who was a pale brown with two red stripes on both of his cheeks in a long, partially closed coat clasped his hands behind his back with a calm and slightly pleased expression.
The leaders deputy pointed his sword at the two Hroos yelling:"You two there! Give up quietly and we will hand you over to the Honorable Judges of Shankon!"
While the soldiesr glanced at each other nervously Farram mimicked the deputy in a whine:"The Honorable Judges of Shankon!"
Then he spat in the deputys direction snarling:"Honorable my ass!"
"Farram…",the other Hroo warned quietly just when the deputy yelled angrily:"Kill them!"
The soldiers edged forward nervously and Farram snarled:"Come on you motherless pigs! Scared by one unarmed Hroo?"
A soldier angered by those words ran forward yelling angrily and Farram ducked under the whistling sword snorting:"Really! They let anyone into the army now!"
He thrust his arm forward grabbing the mans neck and after he let go he jumped back dodging another blow of the sword. As soon as he jumped back the man started to burn just like his former leader. Screaming and writhing in pain the man fell to the ground as Farram held up his hand towards the man and curled it into a fist like he had done with the leader. Just like before the man vanished in a sudden flare of fire leaving his armor and sword behind.
"He's one of those freaks that can control fire!",one of the soldiers yelled and he and his comrades edged away from the two remaining Hroos.
Now the other Hroo moved. He walked forward calmly ordering:"You are all to leave immediately and tell your king that he is to leave the north alone."
"Like hell that's happening.",the deputy muttered edging back with his soldiers and Farram growled:"We should just kill them Burrun!"
Burrun sighed and gazed at the deputy with sad dark green eyes. Then shaking his head he said:"If they are not willing to be our messengers I'm afraid we'll have to do it your way Farram…"
With a growl of satisfaction Farram leapt forward attacking the nearest soldier long enough to touch him and then went for the next soldier. Each soldier he touched burst into flames and the fire flared up long enough for the soldier to vanish into coals and ash. Soon the deputy was the last one remaining.
"See you in hell bastard!",Farram snarled just when the deputy raised his sword and waved it in a desperate signal of some kind.
Surprised Farram halted to hear the whizzing sound of arrows and was suddenly shoved aside. Farrams eyes widened in shock when he heard three thuds and while he stumbled aside he turned his head and saw that three arrows had pierced Burrun.
The deputy turned and fled while Farram ran to Burruns side yelling:"Burrun!"
The Hroo fell to his knees breathing heavily as a fine trickle of blood bled from the corner of his mouth and around the arrows the cloak stained red.
Farram helped Burrun lie down on his back forcing back tears.
It was all his fault! Why had the arrows have to hit three fatal points for that matter?
"F-Farram.",Burrun gasped his breathing starting to become jerky and his vision feverish,"I-I want you-want you to-to find the hope. The Fire of Hope!"
"I will! I promised to when I started traveling you on your insane mission!",Farram growled trying not to cry. He was seventeen!
He shouldn't cry about any kind of crap!
Burrun smiled weakly and closed his eyes whispering:"There you go playing the tough guy again…"
Except for the crackling of the fires everything was silent and after Farram was sure Burrun was dead he got up his hands balled into trembling fists.
Then putting back his head he screamed his fury to the black sky the fires blazing even higher showing Farrams pain.
Okay I know some bad language, but Farram is the kind of guy to say stuff like that so I get to write it then. :P
Anywho I had this idea floating around in my head when I saw that the contest for the group DoomsDayBunnies I'm in was based on fire. This isn't my submission, but I liked this so much I wanted to post it. :dummy:
It would actually be the prologue to something bigger which I might continue, but maybe sometime else...

Farram and Burrun belong to me. Do not steal!

OMG… when I read som bad language I expekterd more like “You **** **** **** of ****.” You get it. I have had a few characters like that before… I find them quite amusing.
I found this quit inspiring… I want to make my own version.
