There's a reason why I enjoy fanfiction, and crossover fanfiction in particular. It allows for some of the most crazy "what the hell" situations in the world. Situations that would never ever occur in canon, but sometimes you just wonder what would happen if they did. Situations that, when taken seriously are utterly idiotic, but if you're willing to let yourself fall into the MST3K mantra, "It's just a _____, I should really just relax," then you can laugh at how utterly crazy things can get and have a smashing good time.

I would direct you to numerous Dr. Who crossovers with the new My Little Pony show to prove my point. In fact, there's one in particular that I feel everyone who likes both Ponies and the Doctor should read [link] Is it silly? Crazy? Utterly rediculous? Would it never happen ever? The answer to all of these is yes. But my God, it's just so... silly. So wacky and fun to read these utterly crazy situations happening to these characters!

At least for me it is.

Crossover fanfiction is my guiltiest pleasure, and somehow, the new MLP show has finally driven me over the edge and made me start writing it. And yes, the image above IS in fact something I'm currently writing. A (somewhat more lighthearted) take on the Incredible Hulk, in Ponyville, with the least likely candidate to be a raging monster taking the role.
(Then again, nobody would've expeccted Bruce Banner to turn into a monster and yet, here we are)

My point is, sometimes its fun to stop taking things seriously and let the crazy run free. Drop something completely unexpected in a setting and see what happens just for a laugh! Have some wacky fun!

...so please put down the shovels?
