Ordinary Miracle

This was terribly difficult for me.
I despise point perspective drawings, preferring organic, nature and fantasy settings.
And some thing I have never done before... TRYing to create the illusion of a beam of light with out drawing rays of light, but instead varying the light and dark tones and textures of objects and back grounds caught within that beam, to give the illusion. Very Tricksy.
As for the tid bit of color, its a good thing that my materials are clearly labeled as I am color Blind.

This was a project for the sick childrens make a wish foundation, and an entry for the Calgary expo book 2k11.
I hope I managed to get a feeling of both tragedy And hope in there.

this was done entirely in 2b pencil.
I didnt notice till afterwards, but the shadow of the plant almost looks like a ghostly girl reaching for the base of the sprout to inspire its growth.
I hope it inspires You as much as it confounded Me. lol.
