FabricaDeHerois: David Jacobs

This is David Jacobs, a supporting character and love interest for Thunder Woman.

David is a young man from a conservative upbringing who is largely trying to leave his past behind. An aspiring artist, he is extremely creative but artistically challenged. This is partly due to his habits, and partly due to indecision over what to do with his life. David has an extremely talent for memorizing and recalling large amounts of information about a wide variety of subjects, causing him to be nicknamed "The Human Encyclopedia." In spite of this vast knowledge, he hasn't been able to put it into practice in a way that can benefit him, and thus has been largely unemployed, living off of some leftover scholarship money from college. His talent with memorizing facts like statistics, and a moderate gift with math had him considering a job in the financial sector, but the shear dearth of number crunching, which he has no patience for, plus the unscrupulous, dog-eat-dog nature of business, which he considers disgusting, keeps him from doing anything on that front.

David is a neighbor to Samantha at the apartment complex she lives at. They first got to know each other while at a party hosted by the landlord. With his various gifts, he was able to keep up with her in conversation about various subjects, and even offered to help proofread an article she was writing for the college newspaper. This resulted in them meeting and spending more time together, and a strong friendship blossomed. Thanks to Samantha's input, David was able to secure a job at the university working as an assistant for some of the other professors there.

David always suspected a connection between Samantha and Thunder Woman, noting that in spite of Thunder Woman's far more impressive physique and godly complexion, that she bore a resemblance to the History teacher. It also helped that Samantha was never around when Thunder Woman was, and that often Thunder Woman would show up on the university campus dealing with some freak creature, edlritch creature, or mad sorcerer trying to steal a book or artifact. However, without any hard evidence, he could not know for certain if that was the case, and David felt that any attempt on his part to find out or ask would only jeopardize his relationship with Samantha, who he was beginning to develop feelings for.

That would soon change when David abruptly walked in on Samantha as she changed back from Thunder Woman to her normal self one day. When Samantha revealed the truth, she expected David to feel hurt or stop talking to her, but to her
surprise she found that he accepted this, vindicated that he had figured the truth out. Their relationship blossomed after that, with David sometimes going out on secret dates with Thunder Woman, even occasionally lending a helping hand as best as any ordinary human can.

Naturally, being this close to Thunder Woman has given David his share of problems. He has been kidnapped multiple times by Thunder Woman's enemies, either as bait for trap, or to turn him into a kind of Trojan horse against her. Even Zues has gotten in on the act, either challenging him for Thunder Woman's heart, or transforming him into various creatures or objects. Thankfully for David, Thunder Woman has been able to resolve these situations, though David wonders if its only a matter of time before something really bad happens to him.

In spite of such hardships, they remain together as a couple, David accepting the peril of being in a relationship with one of the most powerful women in the world, even as they encounter other bumps in the road. This includes a college student vying for his attention, being accussed of being "hipster," his own bi-curiosity, and Thunder Woman's intimate relationships with Justrix and Zues, the latter of whom she retreats to for comfort sometimes, much to David's chagrin.

It also doesn't help that David is embarrassed and even ashamed at the upbringing he had, and one of the low points in his life was when his parents found out about his relationship with Samantha, and personally came to confront the both of them, his mother even accusing Samantha of being a whore and demanding she leave his life. Thankfully, she was patient enough to deal with the persecution, and after they left David completely estranged himself from his family, something which still bothers him since deep down, he really does love and care for his parents.

What the future holds for David and Samantha remains to be seen...
