Maybe because we turned a blind eye to it, it's something you and I can't hear anymore. But for those youths, it sings out to them like a shining star, as radiant as the galaxy itself.

These are the costumes that fabulous delicious waist and I wore for the Brisbane round of madman nationals this year.

Normal red wig, styled and spiked. The yellow bit is a separate clump of hair altogether, with a layer of velcro underneath it for quick transformation.

Materials include cathedral satin, a blue christmas ball, metres and metres and metres of yellow/gold bias binding, yellow/gold frilly stuff, red vinyl for the boots (lightly brushed with black paint), and elastic and velcro - also for quick transformation =3.

The swords are made out of frosted perspex. The dimensions of the sword pieces are all triangles, and were calculated based on their guesstimated proportions. These measurements were sent to be cut by plasticworkers. The triangular pieces are held together by clear silicone (the stuff that fills gaps in your shower lol.) and reinforced with sticky tape around the hilt *shot*.
The swords are powered by 8x AA batteries, all aligned in a piece of electrical tubing. These batteries power a length of colour-changing LEDS inside the sword casing, controlled remotely by a small remote. The remote enables the sword lights to change colour, change brightness, rotate through the colours, change the speed of the colour rotation, and most importantly turn on and off.
Finally, the batteries last for about 2 hours straight if left turned on at maximum brightness. The batteries are changeable by opening up a section of the handle on a hinge.

tl;dr - the swords can be set to 'rave' mode. Party !
