Jonathan is a German History student, his father served in the American Army and met his mother when stationed in Germany.
Along with his favorite teacher, Professor Feldmann, Jonathan travels to Romania to help his mentor acquire pieces for an exhibition about myths and folklore.
Little does he know their host is a vampire count. He meets the count's son Nicolai along with a terrible man named Velkan, who Jon takes an instant disliking in.
Things take a turn for the worse when Jonathan stumbles upon the count's secret only to be saved by Nicolai and Velkan and brought back to Germany.
Soon after being reunited with his Professor Jonathan only barely escapes death again, when his mentor unleashes a shadow demon on him, trying to kill the unwanted witness. Jonathan soon finds himself in the company of Velkan and Nicolai again, who show him the Agency. The Agency is an international secret service monitoring the world of the night and trying to keep it separate from the humans. Jonathan not only learns that vampires, demons and witches are very real, Nicolai even being a vampire, but also about the tension between Lycans and Vampires and the different groups living in the shadows of the night.
Nicolai's father, the count, is one of the Liberationists, who think that the rules of the Agency are keeping the Vampires down and preventing them from ruling over the earth, while his son thinks that order has to be kept. Velkan however doesn't trust vampires at all, only Nicolai, who is his brother-in-law. Though Velkan is everything Jonathan hates in a man the two start a very passionate affair soon after.
Struggling to get his old life back Jonathan soon realizes it's futile. He tries to keep a distance to his friends to keep them away from all this but fails with his unfaithful ex-boyfriend Markus.
Being part of the Agency and working with Velkan and Nicolai to find out what his Professor was planning Jonathan finds himself fighting against a newborn vampire he is very familiar with: Markus.
Unable to kill him Jonathan not only loses the fight but also his life, becoming a vampire himself. Being forced to endure the thirst for blood and the restrictions put on the vampires himself Markus tries to get him to see that the Agency is wrong. And being the one thing Velkan despises most doesn't help Jonathan making their weird relationship any easier.
And if it all wasn't difficult enough there is a killer on the loose who focuses on newborn young vampire men...

*phew* Enjoy I finally seem to have gotten my inspiration back. Now only a little more time at hand and I can finally tackle my commissions again
