This is such a striking image! There are a lot of black and white flower photos out there but this one is so full of impact it's really wonderful!
At first glance it is what it is, a shockingly beautiful photo of flower. But at closer scrutiny the highlights and shadows on the flowers themselves, the off centre framing and the blurred background really add to the impact.
The use of black and white on this particular photo really helps make sense of the title, as perhaps the viewer was distracted from something to look at this flower, (hence the blurred background) or perhaps they specifically chose this flower to distract themselves from other things...
The flower itself is also standing completely alone, and the flowers stem being slightly bend adds a sense of sadness and despair to the photo...

The song Distraction by Apocalyptica does seem rather a strange mix to go with this photo but all in all adds to the overall feeling of possibly despair that could be linked with this flower and the use of black and white....

The technique used is second to none, focus is perfect and the framing being off centre works incredibly well.

I really enjoy this photo <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart"/>
