Scorch and Skye are siblings who were born in a far off place called the Charicific Valley. It is common for the charmander who are born there to mimic the charizard by battling each other to become stronger until they are old enough to leave home. For this reason, Charicific charmander tend to be much stronger than those hailing from elsewhere. After leaving home together and traveling for a time, the two stumbled into Tao Village.

Scorch

Scorch is slightly older than his sister. He loves to show his strength through battles, and will almost never refuse a challenge; due to this and the time he spent traveling, he has grown quite powerful. He promised their mother that he would keep Skye safe, and he is determined to keep that promise at all costs. To Calcifer, he acts as an older brother, and even more so since evolving. He has also become somewhat more civil since his evolution. Somewhat. He dreams of becoming a very powerful charizard like his father, and he admires any pokémon of his evolution line that is highly ranked or famous; there was no doubt which guild they would join once Scorch discovered that Mike, the leader of the Rescuers, was a charmander (no one had the heart to tell him that Mike was gone for a time). Consequently, he acts hostilely towards rogues. He wears his old cape as a makeshift bandage around his chest because of a wound he received while battling Sorbet. "Scorch" is actually a nickname he earned/gave himself while still in the Valley; he tries very hard to keep his real name a secret.

Skye

A kind and gentle pokémon, Skye doesn't like to fight and will try to avoid it as much as possible, but she is naturally quite powerful and will reveal that if the situation demands it. She trusts Scorch’s leadership completely, but knows that his judgment can be easily clouded with the opportunity of a battle and readily intervenes as the voice of reason. She acts as a loving older sister and sometimes a mother-figure towards Calcifer. In the Charicific Valley no one had seen a shiny charmander before, and out of ignorance, the other charmander often picked on her; Scorch tried his best to prevent this, but she now tends to be wary when meeting someone new. She loves to help Missy at her daycare/hatchery in her free time, and especially enjoys playing with the baby pokémon. Although she is willing to let Scorch and Calcifer evolve before her, she secretly cannot wait to become a charizard and have the ability to fly. After not having many nice things of her own during their travels, she treasures her new bag and necklace (a gift from Asher). Her name is a shortened version of Skyler; she will respond to both, but prefers Skye.

Calcifer

Calcifer was adopted by Scorch and Skye as a small egg not long ago, and is very social, fun-loving, and curious; sometimes to the point of being nosey. He will befriend and put his trust in just about anyone he meets. He loves to imitate what others say and do, although Scorch is often a bad example. Scorch tries to teach him how to be a good fighter, while under Skye's influence, he has also become sweet and somewhat chivalrous. He originally wore his cape in an attempt to imitate Scorch's cape. He has a fear of thunderstorms.
