NEW RULES!

---If you bred before May 4th, 2014, the previous breeding rules are found here.---

:pointr: Foal Incentives :pointl:

GENERAL INFORMATION

How to Request

  • To request a breeding, it must be sent by note. However, if the horse says there is a spot open for breeding, you can request a spot. If you don't plan on using your spot I ask that you allow someone else to have it.
  • I breed realistic horses(besides my Hototos), I will list the breed restrictions on each horses ref and in the journal. If it says paints and quarter horses only, the horse you want to breed with is a warmblood, you will be automatically denied.
  • Please be sure your horse is HERDA, HYPP, and LWO negative. Horses are perfered to be up to date on all vaccinations and wormings, ect. If coming from out of state, Coggins Required.

Payment & Timelines for Breeding

  • Payment is taken as follows: Gifts/Prize (no payment required), Auction (auction payment must be completed), Points (points must be sent, no breeding picture required), or Art (breeding picture required).
  • You draw the breeding picture(unless its a gift/prize, from an auction where payment was already received or you pay via points). Perferably, breeding pictures are full body. I perfer full body but I tend to draw headshots because they are quicker. I will accept both. Shading and background is not required.
  • Please draw the breeding picture within 6 months time after the breeding is accepted. (NOT Reservations!)
  • When I get the breeding picture, I upload the foals design (or send you geno if it's agreed you design). You have 6 more months to get a ref with complete info up. If time doesn't allow, please let me know immediately. Failure to get ref up within 6 months will result in warning. After 3 additional months, foal will be considered reclaimed. If you don't agree with the reclaim, please see "Activity".

Right to Decline

I reserve the right to decline all breeding reservations or requests.

Expiration Dates

Upon availability to be bred, RESERVATIONS to a horse will be opened for use. These reservations will expire 1 year after opened for use. Slot holder will be notified 3 months prior to slot being expired. If the slot holder responds within those 3 months (meaning if they are on an extended leave, the slot WILL expire. If you are taking an extended leave, please try to contact me prior if you have a slot soon expiring), with the plans of a breeding, they will get an additional 3 months for the breeding to take place (from the date contacted).

Breeding pictures must be drawn 6 months after breeding partner is chosen. If you need more time, please let me know! I will allow 1 year (with 3 month warning) of slot expiring. If you are not able to use slot at that time, please let me know and I will hold it for you.

Foals reference must be uploaded within 6 months of receiving design (or genotype). If you are unable to do so, please contact me immediately. Warning will be given 1 month prior.

FOAL DESIGN AND ACTIVITY

Who Designs the Foal

I design the foal. For the most part, I already have this written down on most of the sheets, but please be aware, that I design the foal when you request to my horses. If I design, you will get to pick color, but I pick actual genotype. If you have a specific design in your mind, then I will send you 2 genos to pick from and you can design the foal.

If you want an option of twins, please let me know WHY you want twins with your request for breeding. If we each want a foal from the cross, twins is allowed. Otherwise, I won't allow twins.

Activity

  • Foals will be checked upon every 6 months for activity. After 1 year of inactivity, owner will be noted regarding upkeep of foal. They will have 1 month to respond. Failure to respond after 1 month will result in reclaim. I will take back unwanted foals if you ever feel you are unable to keep up with them. If you are going on an extended leave, please make sure to make it public so I am aware. If you are gone for over 25 weeks or 6 months, and foal has not been used in 1 year, foal will be reclaimed.

If your foal is out of one of my top horses (horse of Hall of Fame or other top ranking) then they must be ranked within either a discipline or breed group within the top 3 ranks.

If your foal is out of one of my standard horses, then they must be ranked by at least the lowest level within either a discipline or breed group.

Repurchase & Reclaims

If you no longer want the foal, I will purchase it back for the work put into it. I will not pay for my own bloodlines, but I will pay for effort put into the horse.

Foals that are reclaimed by myself will stay with me for 1 year after reclaim. After that, they will be eligible for resell. Within this 1 year, you can have the option of creating a deal with myself to get the foal back.

If someone besides myself reclaims the foal (say the other parent's owner), then I will have my bloodlines pulled. Any association with my horses will be pulled (prefixes and brands included). If other party is willing to work a deal with me, this can be avoided, but typically, everything will be pulled.

If you have done a lot of work with the horse and you want to keep it after reclaim and refuse to allow reclaim, then you MUST drop my bloodlines (I will not claim your horse on my horses, all relations will be erased),

Decide to Sell Your Foal?

This is a JUMBO rule: If you want to sell the foal to any of my horses, please do the following:
  • If you own the mare and I own the stallion, I get first options.

  • If I own the mare and you own the stallion, I get first options.

  • If someone else owns the mare and I own the stallion, the mares owner gets first options.

  • If I own the mare and someone else owns the stallion, I get first options.

  • In any circumstance, if the mares(the dam to the foal) owner doesn't want the foal, I get first dibs. Failure to ask me will likely result in the foal being removed from the new owners poccession. You will likely be put on my "No Breeding" list and it will be EXTREMELY difficult for me to accept breeding requests from you any longer. I take this very seriously, as I have had foals I wanted back sold off. (Love ya girls, woo to friends).

What does the following statement mean?

"If your foal is out of one of my top horses (horse of Hall of Fame or other top ranking) then they must be ranked within either a discipline or breed group within the top 3 ranks.

If your foal is out of one of my standard horses, then they must be ranked by at least the lowest level within either a discipline or breed group."
