Hello there and welcome to Angel Cake Academy. Even if you are not new to ACA please look through the information below as game-play has changed considerably since the founding days.
ACA: The Fundamental Idea
You are a student, be you a scholarship student, a transfer student or one who has been slogging away with your studies from the very beginning. ACA is essentially a boarding college for trainee pâtissiers aged between thirteen and twenty-four. At ACA there is a Christmas vacation of four weeks and a Summer vacation of six weeks every year, during which time you may choose to stay at ACA or travel back home to see family and friends.
(This means you as the character creator are allowed a pre-approved hiatus period of up to ten weeks per year without any consequence provided you have noted the group beforehand. You are free to take this time off at any point and it does not have to be all at once.)
Basic Rules
Remain active. We will have random checks for activity. Inactive members will be removed.
Application sheets must be coloured and at least a waist up shot of your character. Bust shots/head shots will not be accepted.
No insulting admin or other members. Those who are found being negative within the group will be kicked after two strikes.
Application Rules
All characters must be aged between 13 & 24. Humans only. No ears, tails, fur etc. This is a normal school built on a private island. The only special powers available are the power to cook real tasty sweets
Your application sheet must be fully completed by you. You must put in effort. If your application seems rushed or unfinished it will be declined.
Your character does not need to be in uniform on the sheet.
Chatroom Rules
No R rated roleplay please, this is against DA's rules and can result in the chatroom being closed.
Be respectful at all times to other members, this means no leaving people you might not like out of rp's or purposely flaming or ignoring others in or out of character.
ACA: Q&A
How do I join?
Wait until an opening and click 'Join Group'. Make sure to link to your application in the comment box of your join request. Without a link it will be declined.
Can my character flunk or graduate?
Yes! You can either "flunk out" at any time (by leaving the group or replacing you character with a new one). Or graduate once you have accomplished the knowledge of all 144 recipes in the recipe list. You can graduate at any time, so even if you have learned all the recipes you don't have to graduate straight away.
How do I learn recipes?
Participate in events to learn recipes! You can submit more than once for events, more submissions means more recipes. When you learn a recipe you should tick a box on your learned recipe meme or write it in the comment section of your application.
How active do I have to be?
We'd like if you could remain as active as possible. ACA have one or two events running all the time and plenty of memes, so you should never get bored!
Where do I roleplay and get to know other members?
In the chatroom of course~ there is usually always a mod or two hanging out there or lurking (and when there isn't one usually turns up soon enough), so feel free to come in and chat or rp. We don't bite~
What are house points and how do I get them?
House points are points you get per submission to the galleries. You get one point for any sketches or linearts and two for all finished illustrations. The same goes for text/rp log submissions, 1 point for short submissions or those with many grammatical mistakes and 2 for edited and longer submissions with more effort put into them.
What happens if my House loses/wins the house cup?
Winning the house cup means that your house gallery is featured on the front page of the group for the following term. House points are reset every six weeks so that's six weeks that you and your house mates are featured!
Are we allowed to have relationships with other characters?
Of course! That is what the "Gift" system is for. Besides, who doesn't love a little romance~?
I'm feeling left out/shy/insecure when I visit the chatroom.
This is a roleplay group, just remember that we're all here for the same thing, to have fun! If you ever feel out of place then talk to an admin and we'll introduce you to some other friendly members. There are also opportunities during collab events to get to know somebody new!
I need time out from the group but don't want to leave! What should I do?
In the case that you have exams or anything else which could mean you'd be inactive, feel free to take advantage of the "vacation time" you have. Note the group and let them know that you will need to take vacation. You have up to two and a half months in a year to take as hiatus and can take anything from a week at a time. (Any time taken out which is under a week will not be counted)
Will I be kicked out if I'm inactive?
If you fail to participate in an activity check event, (and aren't on "vacation") then you are at risk of losing your place in the group and may have to reapply. To avoid this? Just be active~
