I'm glad to have captured some interest out there for "Raptor", my own MMORPG project. Still in its infancy, I'll go over the project as much as I can.
Basically, this started out as my own personal mania, and having done programming on only minor endeavors before, I really had no idea what I was in for. In fact, part of the reason I've been staying with it is due to how incredibly difficult it is. I've had to teach myself how to render 3D models (--period. And then convert what I learned into a gaming environment). I've had to learn all kinds of things about C++ which I didn't know about, all within a realm which is, at most, similar in structure, but very different in actual methodology. Of course I had to draw, and plan, and write, and weave it all together.
And I've finally gotten enough of it together to make ONE working zone and a character model that can spin in place. Sounds like I've barely scratched the surface (which is basically all I've done thus far) but it's a huge honkin' victory as well. Did I mention I have yet to create NPC's, items, a working class system, more zones, countless quests, armor, skill sets, and write all dialogue and interactive script for each instance?
Granted, I'm using Realmcrafter www.realmcrafter.com/, which makes it easier... but I have a long way to go... but this is a hobby project at this point. If I get to a point where I think I would like some people on staff, some GMs, and reach open alpha/beta testing, I'm going to give a yell. Gimme some time. Maybe things shall be up and running within the year. In the meantime, expect at least alot more concept art..!
Oh, and to answer the age old question, "why does one go ahead and build a game for fun?"
I have no idea!

VARULV Returns
Hey guys -- Just letting you know that Varulv is back! http://www.varulvcomic.com Come check it out!
Where the Bleep Have I Been?
Time for a long overdue explanation of my absence, wouldn't you say?
Most of you know that my mother was diagnosed with cancer last year, and due to that, my husband and I decided to make a move back to Central Pennsylvania at the end of 2013. I'm both excited and exhausted to announce that things couldn't have gone more off-track.
When January rolled around, mom found out about needing another three rounds of chemo. As of this writing, she's still scheduled for the third, but we're not sure when she'll be on track to get it. Rest assured, she's doing well with it and feeling much better than she had when this whole mess started! I, howeve
Buy Stuff! (SONIC Pages and More!)
Hey guys --
I guess word got out that I'd be selling some of my Sonic pages over the holidays, but I had to hold back as people did *not* have money for them, which I totally understand. :)
So I'm thinking maybe next week would be a great time to put some of them up for sale. I'll also be Ebay auctioning one, at a lower price, and will be happy to put 25% of the profit on it toward my favorite charity, The Fisher House. What do you say to that?
Meanwhile, I'd like to again draw your attention to my secondary account, which is here: ~dmbest (https://www.deviantart.com/dmbest) and a little note that I've gotten back into the swing of making art dolls, for those of you int
VARULV Update and More!
Hey gang!
Just going to drop a quick note here. First up, commissions which I'd wanted to start since moving back east, are still on hold as I wrap up an insane amount of work still on my plate. They WILL open soon, though. I had a few things come in from conventions and some leftovers I'd forgotten about, pop up again, but once stuff cools down, that'll be on the table.
Also, I found some oldschool Sonic art which I intend to have up for auction on eBay, soon. There will be a contribution to charity involved, as well, so this is as always, a good time to get in on a great cause.
And last but most important - VARULV will soon be returning!
