Meeting you

"Annabeth?" Mr. Brunner called to the blonde girl. She came forward and Mr. Brunner introduced us.
"This young lady nursed you back to health, Percy. Annabeth, my dear, why don't you go check on Percy's bunk? We'll be putting him in cabin eleven for now."
Annabeth said, "Sure, Chiron."
She was probably my age, maybe a couple of inches taller, and a whole lot more athletic looking. With her deep tan and her curly blond hair, she was almost exactly what I thought a stereotypical California girl would look like, except her eyes ruined the image. They were startling gray, like storm clouds; pretty, but intimidating, too, as if she were analyzing the best way to take me down in a fight.
She glanced at the minotaur horn in my hands, then back at me. I imagined she was going to say, You killed the minotaur! or Wow, you're awesome! or something like that.
Instead she said, "You drool when you sleep."
Then she sprinted off down the lawn, her blond hair flying behind her.

That scene popped into my mind as soon as I came back home from Sweden and sat down at my PC again. I was like "oh well, I always wanted to draw scenes from the books so I might as well start now." and did this. It took me a few days because the details in the background pretty much killed me...but I'm proud of it now. Yes, I did a background! You can pass out now, it's real. And it's probably horrible, my shading didn't change one bit but I have sooo much fun with it this way. I added gradients - don't know if one can see it- but soft shading isn't what I really enjoy somehow.

And I know (!!) that he has the minotaur horn itself in his hands and not the box he puts it in later. BUT I thought that way, how he was clinging to it, it symbolized how unsure and partly scared he is from the whole situation, with losing his mother and learning that he's a demigod and everything. I thought that pose looked much better than if he just stood there dumbly with the horn in his hands

I also like the clouds...I used a technique I saw on some tutorial. Might as well try it again some time and post what tut I mean but what do you think? Better than the comic clouds I guess And I also tried to picture camp. First, the background was supposed to be the table where Chiron, Grover and Dyonisus sit at but that killed me, especially Chiron and his wheelchair. So I decided to do camp. The placement of the elements in the valley is from a map from Riordan's side so I guess it should all be correct...yeah. Btw no, I didn't look at *burdge-bug's picture for this. It's just coincidence that they stay at the same side as in her picture, I saw it only afterwards

Really hope you like it, it took me forever and I enjoyed doing it, hope you enjoy it as well!! Sorry for the long comment!
