Yea I made a short background story of my OC Vance
Thanks to CookieZoela, she fixed my awful grammar ;u;

Even at the age of 9 Vance didn't really have an interest in becoming a Pokémon trainer as a matter of fact he didn't even quite like Pokémon as he only cared about playing outside like a typical kid.
One day though Vance asked his dad if he wanted to have a trip, just him, his mom and his dad without bringing their Pokémon with them because he thought that his dad, being a Pokémon ranger and his mom a Pokémon breeder, spent too much of their time with them instead of being with him.
Vance did have a point though for his dad owned a very loyal young treecko, and it refused leave his dad's side, that alone showed how his dad put too much of his passion and interest in his Pokémon. They even had a hard time leaving his father's treecko behind but eventually his dad managed to ask treecko to patiently wait for him as they would only be gone just for a day.

His father brought them to a very beautiful place, it was filled with amazing Pokémon his father was sure that they were not too wild and would most likely not cause them any trouble.
His father took this opportunity to somehow make his child have an interest in Pokémon. He introduced each one of them and give some information, but Vance didn't find it interesting enough so he asked his father if he can play with them instead, his father just let him go since he was so stubborn about it. So Vance ran towards a bunch of tauros and started played with them.

They were having a great time that day until something unexpected happened. Vance started shouting, asking for help as he was lying on the ground and surrounded by a herd of tauros.
His mother was shocked and had no idea why those Pokémon were about attack her child as she knew that those Pokémon are not really wild and that they are tamed for the travelers to enjoy playing with them.
His father ran out quickly to help him, his heart swelled with fear and concern for Vance but before he could for reach him he suddenly got a heart attack and collapsed to the ground. Vance saw what happened and quickly stood up and ran over to see what had happened to his father, it turned out that Vance had not really been in any danger but he was only playing a joke. The reason why he was surrounded by them is because he was holding a food and was about feed them.
His mother drove Vance's father quickly to the nearest hospital but unfortunately he didn't make it.
As the days went by Vance would lock himself inside his room blaming himself because of what happened to his father.
From his window he noticed that his father's treecko was still sitting quietly in front of their house and had been like that since they returned.
The next day he checked outside his window again to see if the treecko was still there and sure enough it was.
A few weeks past and the treecko was still sitting outside so he decided to go out and check on him.
He was so curious as to why it kept sitting in front of their house all day, every day without even moving an inch, it would only move slightly at times when his mom give him some food to eat but treecko didn't eat much. Vance even noticed that treecko had lost so much weight; it was even thinner than when his father was still alive.
The other thing that he noticed was that it was holding a picture. He took a peep at it and saw that it was a picture of his father. He then realized all this time the treecko was waiting for his dad to come home because he remembered that the day before they left the house for the trip his father told treecko not to leave the place until he returned and gave him his picture so that it would feel like he was just beside him.
Vance didn't know what to think, he wanted to cry but instead he just ran back into room and
Continued to hate himself over what he had done.
Months passed by and the treecko still did not budge, his loyalty still ever present, even his mom failed to move him from where he sat.
Vance, now eager to make the treecko come with him, found a book that his father gave to him, a book about understanding pokemon and their feelings.
He found the book in his drawer but when he opened it a letter fell out. The letter was from his father.
In the letter his father wrote that he was very ill and at any given time he would be gone, he apologized to Vance about him spending too much time and giving too much of his attention to his Pokémon rather than spending time with him.
He also mentioned that when he was gone that he should take good care of his mother and his precious treecko.
So then Vance decided to become a Pokémon ranger just like his father but before that he had to learn how to deal with Pokémon first by becoming a regular trainer.

His mother gave him her approval to reach for his goal. And when the day arrived for him to start his journey and leave the city he went to treecko and told him that his master, Vance's dad was never coming back. Vance gave him a necklace that his father gave him and then treecko move its head to look at Vance and he saw his master's eyes in him. Tears started falling from treecko's eyes then Vance told treecko that he promised to become a good ranger just like his father and that when he got back he would take good care of him. Vance turned around and started walking away from him slowly, suddenly he noticed something moving beside him. When he turned around he saw that it was no other than Treecko who was following him, it's legs shaking as it was having a hard time walking after sitting for so long. Vance took a poke ball from his bag and told treecko that he should rest for a while.

Many days passed as Vance and treecko traveled together through different regions, despite the fact that treecko went with him, he wouldn't battle with him not until he saw that Vance had become a least half as good as his father was.
One day in their journey Vance bumped into this guy who was wandering around with his Meowth. Vance asked him for a battle but the guy refused. Vance refused to leave the guy until he agreed to battle with him but the guy didn't really want to battle as he wanted to become a breeder not a regular trainer that battles every now and then. Vance, being as stubborn as he was started following the guy wherever he went but then later on for some unknown reason they became friends and the guy's name was Reese.
