Vespula

A wasp on a window glass looking for ways to escape out. Or just chillin'... Created entirely by me for the Yafaray Annual Competition 2011 - Insectum. I spent a lot of time on modeling, rigging, texture paining & material creation, because I wanted to deliver a photoreal result. It payed off, since this was the winning entry... Modeled in Blender, texture paining & postpro in GIMP, rendered with Yafaray, tonemapping with Luminance HDR.

Although I got constant wasp intrusions in my room, no wasps were harmed in the process of creation of this render.
