Shadow 2.0

I keep thinking posting this'll probably come back to bite me in the ass a few weeks from now, but... here it is.

I've never been particularly happy with Shadow's outfit (seen here) as it appeared in issues 3 and 4. I originally designed her for a different project that never saw the light of day at some point in the 90s, and looking back now, the gym outfit... well, it's just silly. So I decided to update her, and this is what I eventually came up with. As you can probably tell, I barely even think about color anymore when I design characters these days, they just need to look good in black and white after all. Making those stripes red was really just something I came up with when I got to coloring this one, but I do like the fact that I was able to keep the color scheme of Shadow's original outfit intact.

Anyway, this was actually just going to be me practicing drawing the new outfit and I didn't really want to post anything showing it until she actually appears this way in issue 6, but then I just really liked this piece, so I decided to ink and color it. That's why it's drawn with far more black and hatching than I'd normally use on a colored piece. Coloring something that's drawn the way I would for the comic is also something I've been meaning to try for a while, so it was nice to get around to that.

Anyway, here's Shadow 2.0, and this is totally not official, and if you tell anyone on Drunkduck about this, I'll have to kill you.
