Ashei Lunacarne is a vampiric human on Protectorate Team Thule Alpha. She is the only Vampire in her family. She is serious, driven, and occasionally has a dry sense of humor.

The Protectorate of Earth is one of the four branches of the Directorate of Man. The Protectorate specializes in keeping earth safe, and the majority of earth population unaware of extraterrestrial and fantastic creatures.

In the spacious verse vampirism is a magical disease which can be transferred genetically or through a bite, although it is much harder to catch than some people imagine. It manifests itself as a need to consume blood, as well as the presence of small fangs, and a paler skin tone. Also, all Vampires hair appears to turn black. The longer the vampire goes without blood, the stronger their need for it becomes, until the lose control and eventually, die.
