Some people may ask, what is the significance behind shooting stars? To be honest, there is a story about it. The tragic hero of misfortune, his name is Ragnarok...

Upon his birth, A witch claimed to have foresaw the future. She said "A mortal born upon this day will slay Zeus and claim control over everything." Now witches are known for being devious and causing mischief among the gods, but Zeus became paranoid...

Ragnarok was the only human born the same day the witch foretold her prophesy. Zeus immediately wanted to kill him then and there, but his brothers stopped him.

"Brother, how can we kill a newborn baby? That's just murder!" Poseidon said angered.

"How can you be destined to the die the moment you were born?" Hades argued.

Through gritted teeth, Zeus deciding to give in to his brothers reasoning.

"Alright Alright, I won't Kill him..." Zeus assured.

Soon as the gods departed Mount Olympus, Zeus hired Asssassins to keep a watch on Ragnarok as he grew up over the years. If he were to show any form of power, to take him out, immediately.

But after that, nothing really happened. Not until Ragnarok turned fourteen...

In his teenage years, he was mastering the art of combat. His loving parents introduced him to fighting to secretly protect him from Zeus. They figured if Zeus saw Ragnarok becoming stronger, he would be too scared to approach him. To bad they were wrong.

The assassins warned Zeus of Ragnarok's swordsmanship. He quickly decided to settle the rumors once and for all. His plan was to challenge Ragnarok to a duel. Obviously Zeus would win and that would prove that the witch was lying the whole time.

So Zeus ~stormed~ over to the Towns circle, transformed into a human, and challenged Ragnarok.

In about less than ten minutes Zeus lost, and he was angry... He transformed into his god form, filled with lightning everywhere and fired at Ragnarok catching him off guard.

It would have killed me, but I look up, and I was shocked. I saw my parents jump infront of the electricity just to protect me. Zeus quickly teleported out of the city, leaving me with my losses.

Zeus calls a meeting for all elementalist gods. He wanted to destroy Ragnarok at any cost, How can a mortal be better than a god-- Not even! The King of Kings?

Zeus issued the gods to create Natural Disasters that will destroy civilization in Thebes, including Ragnarok

Hermes hears of this and decides to team up with Ragnarok, the only hope for Thebes. Hermes gives him Enchanted Armor, and the sword of Excalibur.

Ragnarok used both items and a combination of bravery to fight off the natural disasters.Zeus was angered again at another failure.

He decided to visit the witch who told the Prophecy for advice, and with a devious smile she told Zeus the answer to take care of Ragnarok ...

The next day, Aphrodite, the goddess of love, visited Ragnarok's home. She warned him about Zeus using a civilian as hostage in order to offer another challenge. Ragnarok as always, was ready to take on anything from Zeus. Just before he ran off, Aphrodite suggested that he should drink a potion to help him in combat.

He drank it and ran to where he would meet Zeus. But what he drank was a love potion, and He did not see Zeus, he only saw a cloaked girl, an enchantress actually. And right there, he was Blinded by love. He rushed towards her wanting to embrace her. Just as he got closer, she turned around and clutched a dagger under her sleeves. When he was close enough to clutch her, she stabbed him with a dagger, right through the heart...

Her eyes showed no sorrow. This was the witch who announced the lie about Ragnarok overthrowing Zeus. She made it up just to cause mischief and mayhem. For her own cruel satisfaction.

The Tragedy of Ragnarok's Life was the result of the first shooting star on earth. Now every year on Ragnarok's Birthday, A shooting star will appear, and grant a wish for anyone who can spot it.All in memory of those who are desperate to change the inevitable.
This was a project for AP English. Basically I needed to create my own greek mythological hero based on the theme of Tragedy. The hero I created was named Ragnarok, the prisoner of fate. In greek mythology there is always a powerful force that no one can really stand against, so Ragnarok decided to take the job. He did so unwillingly because of a rumor that a witch foretold a fake prophesy that caused a connection of mayhem. Join Ragnarok in his fight to change the inevitable.
