<sub>The trailer was coming up the lane. Lily had been waiting outside the whole morning to greet the new stallion from Skagenrak, the Nordanner. She only got to see a small photograph of him so far. As the truck and trailer pulled up, her heart beat a little bit faster.

The stallion that hopped off the trailer was stunning in the frosty morning light. His chestnut coat glimmering, he looked out around the farm, and snorted. Walking against the lead rope, practically dragging the handler, Lily ran to get the lead. The stallion snorted, half rearing away from her, staring. He quivered from her, ears pointed forward. She stroked his neck, and relaxing, he bent his neck forward, smelling her hair. This is going to be one horse to reckon with she thought to herself, as she released him into his small paddock, watching him canter away to check out his new neighbors.</sub>
