On Friday November 25th 2011, five creative minds converged on a studio in the city of Melbourne, Australia. Many of us would be meeting for the first time. The question: What happens when you mix two cosplayers, two artists, and a photographer in a studio?

The answer, apparently , is "The Last Agni Kai" – a romance of cosplay, lights, and photography. Based on the characters Princess Azula and Prince Zuko from the cartoon "Avatar the Last Airbender", the five of us worked together on this theme to create some memorable and unique art.

Starting Monday 5th December, we will be uploading these photos, mainly spread between the two cosplay accounts (/Chryso as Princess Azula and /Kristian as Prince Zuko), with supportive pieces and behind-the-scenes work spread between /Shura the producer  /Brett the photographer and /Kelly(me) the utility assistant.

This journal entry will keep track of all the photos and be continually updated.

Despite how official it sounds, it really was a fun day, a journey of learning and experience. Our top priorities were to have fun and to practice! We had no expectations, and were curious to see what we could come up with at the end of the day. Kristian, Brett and I know each other from cosplay, Kelly and I knew each other from DA, and Kelly/Shura know each other from DA as well – but other than that, the rest of us were meeting each other for the first time. I am so happy with the results – but we still have a lot more to learn!
