Lame title is lame... But hey, working title was merphantomidea so... this is better I guess. haha.
Anyway - Started this at least a month ago, to give my sister as a Christmas present. Actually I started gathering references for it back on July 4... so from Independence Day to Christmas Eve...
It is finally done, printed, and waiting wrapped up under the tree. 
Sis loves Phantom of the Opera, and loves mermaids/merpeople as well, so... I combined the two to come up with this idea. The entire thing was hand painted (digitally, obviously) - I only cheated in a few spots.

Not sure I would have picked a conch shell for the mask, nor that Erik would be that ripped (Swimmers tend to have lithe, well toned bodies, at least in my experience.), but this is lovely. It actually speaks to a Phanfiction I started in high school called Through the Mist where instead of the usual "Erik is a vampire and an OC/Christine falls in love with.", I chose a merman to be the supernatural influence. And my OC, Alaina Skonhet, is the daughter of a famous human singer and an equally prestigious and affluent musician from Oceania, my "Atlantis" for my universe.
