The Colourization Process

Description

Here you can see how I able to turn dull bi- or tri-colour B&W or Sepia pictures and drawings into nice coloured ones.

1st one: The original picture, I sometimes make adjustments like sharpening or changing the brightness and contrast but not always.

2nd one: With the software I use I draw lines of different colours on the picture so it can become colourful. I usually only applies 2-3 colours at one time and then hit the button to see the result and change the colour afterwards if the product is not good. But sometimes I only draw lines to a section of the picture.

3rd one: It s almost the finished product. This is what the software done after the colourization process, there are a few cases when I finish here but mostly not.

4th one: The last phase when I play with the brightness and contrast and sharpening the picture if I feel necessary. These are the ones I upload here, the final product.

The finished drawing:

The software I use:
Recolored: For the colourization process
Paint.net: For the sharpening, drawing fixes/text removal and brightness-contrast adjustment.
