Danielle Hoyte is a strong psychometer, be it object or person with a touch she knows.
Dani was on her way to being the youngest BPRD agent in history at the age of 16. She had an interview with Professor Trevor Bruttenholm but when he brought Hellboy along her curiosity led her to take off her gloves and touch him...
Whatever it was she saw left her blind, though all the experts agree there nothing physically wrong with her eyes. Dani blames herself for what happened and won't tell anyone what she saw.
When she found out that her disability took her out of the running of being a field agent she delayed her entry to the BPRD until she was confident she could pass the field agent requirements.
