So what?
So go and watch them?
Er, why should I?
Because CVs are the strongest link between you (as a member of the lit community) and the dA staff/site-wide volunteers.
Because CVs post literature news.
Because CVs help run or promote many of the projects, competitions, and groups in the literature community.
Because CVs pick DDs.
Because CVs are nice people!
So I should just watch them?
Yeah.
That’s it? Nothing else?
Oh, you can definitely do more. How about you go and...
introduce yourself on their latest journal post?
have a look at the projects or news articles they’re pimping?
suggest a Daily Deviation? (If you don’t know what to suggest, look in your favourites.)
read and critique their latest deviation?
I had arranged to meet the mysterious pair in a caravan ‘plum of hue and spangled with stars’. But when I arrived, three performing zebras had o’erleapt their stable door, a dinosaur had got out of her cage, and the whole circusy gamut was preoccupied rounding up the wayward beasts. The monkey sat on the caravan steps clutching a coconut. I joined him, held the reigns of the third striped steed as it finally submitted to the whip. The other animals safely stowed, we closeted ourselves in the plum caravan; the tiger made tea. I got straight to business:
Should deviants be scared of you?
ikazon: Nah, I'm about as terrifying as a pillow.
BeccaJS: I only roar and growl for attention. People see a Tiger and run, when most of the time I just want someone to talk to!
Do you scorn communication with the common people?
BeccaJS: Oh please, I only accept the Queen’s English darling! But give me a bit of attention and I may give some back
ikazon: I read that as "Do you scone communication", and yes, I would be delighted to have a scone.
If an unknown deviant dares speak to you, will you bite their heads off?
ikazon: Not the head, of course not! Maybe an ear a la Mike Tyson, but not the entire head. That's a mouthful!
BeccaJS: I may nibble a little if I am hungry or grumpy (usually grumpy because I am hungry).
Are you the two most wise and talented writers on deviantArt?
BeccaJS: I heard apocathary wrote sometimes... but that could be a lie.
ikazon: As far as talent goes
Why should lowly deviants watch you, who are so vastly high?
BeccaJS: Because I am only 5"4 and need to compensate my stature over the internet.
ikazon: I've got scones! 8D
If a writer has begun a new literature project, should they avoid telling you for fear of your contempt?
BeccaJS: Totally, I may steal their ideas and take all the credit. Or worse, pass them to someone else and still take all the credit.
ikazon: Seriously, no, if you've got a project, lemme know and I'll promote the heck out of it. :3

It's been a week or so. I am still around. Go me.
one. life updates
(People's personal lives are my favourite thing about journals. Pls skip if that is not you.)
I am (a) no longer teaching (short answer: "I like teaching, I don't like being a teacher"), (b) not entirely true, I'm tutoring maths and English, and teaching creative writing to kids and teens some weekends, (c) I'm also doing temp bar work. Which would be fine if it weren't for people, (d) I'm also doing an MA in writing for young people starting September. Very much looking forward to meeting a load of weirdos like me and hanging out with them for a year. And writing, obvs. (
?
I keep trying to come back and I keep failing but I want to be part of dA again I miss it.
(Also, I'm totes under-employed now, so IT'S POSSIBLE?)
Swimming / Hammers
This term-time business is a lot of hassle and involves far more effort than I have the effort-muscles to put in.
Right now I am organising summer concerts, a zoo trip, finishing end of year reports, involved in various art week shenanigans and getting a pack of children prepared for sports day, I'm getting observed tomorrow, and that's relatively little in comparison to all those people putting in real effort-muscles. I'm mostly just swimming from day to day. Using doggy paddle. I'll get to where I need to be eventually, anyway.
(And that is? Summer holidays with brain still basically intact. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...)

We've been looking after some friends' felines while they've been travelling in New Zealand. They send us texts such as "sitting on a beach in the sunshine drinking beer. Our lives are so hard :(". Meanwhile we have become very attached to their cats.
Two days ago I was washing up and gazing out the kitchen window. The young ginger male, fittingly called Loki, was stalking through the overgrown lawn, thinking he was soooooo camouflaged.

I loved the conversation tone where the miniature interview was featured! I bet that relieved a lot of people's fears of the big, scary lit. heads
