The goal of the project was to convey a storyline. The subject matter could be autobiographical, biographical, literary or political. I chose the topic of body image in women, being biographical and, in many ways, autobiographical. Countless women and girls feel inadequate. How can you blame them? Just look at a magazine, billboard, or commercial on TV. Messages of perfection are pounded at women everyday. What has happened that has made us view beauty this way? How can airbrushed and digitally altered models be our ideal of beauty? Every other woman is pressured to fit this mold that society has created. I think it's extremely sad and needs serious addressing.

This is the first narrative panel. The girl is cowered on the ground and broken (being made and pieced together like a mannequin). The world around her is chaotic. Her peers tell her she's ugly and worthless.
