   Part: 1
Chapter 5: The Search Begins!

Draiko and his group finally reached the end of the road as they were only thirty yards away from the Leaf Village's entrance.

"Okay guys, listen up!" said Draiko. "We're here on peaceful terms, so don't be wandering off and getting into trouble. I also want us all to keep a low profile; don't draw too much attention to yourselves, okay?"

"Yes, sir." replied the other Uzumakis.

"Good, now before we continue on I want us all to wear our cloaks so as to disguise ourselves. Even though we're allies to the Leaf Ninja, we don't want to reveal our clan's presence just yet, so cover up any signs that show who we really are."

The other Uzumakis quickly reached into their supply bags and pulled out their own respected cloaks. Draiko did the same as he pulled out his hood and cloak from when he served Madara.

"Funny," he said, "I never would've thought I'd have to wear this again. Let's hope nobody in here recognizes me from the war."

"Don't worry, sire." Kahn said. "I'm sure we'll do just fine."

"Yeah, you're probably right." Draiko said as he continued to lead the group into the Leaf Village.

As the Uzumakis entered the village, they could see that even though it was partly destroyed, the villagers did an excellent job rebuilding most of their buildings. From a distance it looked almost deserted, but up-close it was still full of life. This still made Draiko happy as it gave him hope that their missing member was still alive.

The group wandered the streets, fitting well with the crowd, as they made their way to the center of the village.

"Okay guys, here's what we're gonna do now!" Draiko started. "We're gonna split up and sweep the village for any signs of our man. According from the information I got from the last village, we're looking for a male, roughly around the age of 16 or 17; he's also an Uzumaki so he's bound to have red-colored hair like us. So look for and ask anyone who fits that description. We meet back here in one hour with an update. Also, see if you can find out what happened to this place. It kinda bothers me that such a village could be destroyed like this and yet so many people were able to survive it."

"Yes, sir!" the others replied as they quickly scattered around the village.

Meanwhile, in another part of the Leaf Village, Hinata Hyuga and her sister, Hanabi, were wandering around the markets getting groceries for their clan. The two were eye-balling the many fruits and vegetables on the stands, picking out which ones they were going to use to prepare dinner for tonight.

"Oh, how about this one, sis?" said Hanabi as she raised a big watermelon to Hinata. "Is this one good enough?"

"Hmm…" Hinata said as she inspected the large melon. "It seems to be the right size, right shape." After performing a few more inspection methods Hinata smiled as she approved of her sister's find. The two quickly paid for the melon as they added it to rest of their stash of ingredients.

The two sisters continued their journey through the markets before Hinata caught a glimpse of something at the corner of her eye. She quickly turned her head to see a man standing on the roof of one of the buildings. But something about this man sent a chill up Hinata's spine. The man was wearing a hood and cloak and was searching for something within the crowd of people.

Hinata quickly grabbed Hanbi's hand and rushed her into a nearby alley.

"Hinata, what are you doing!?" screamed Hanabi as she was being dragged.

"Be quiet, and don't say another word!" replied Hinata as the two of them hid behind a few large crates.

Meanwhile, Takashi Uzumaki was standing on the roof of a building while searching amongst the large crowd of people in a nearby marketing town.

"Damn it all!" he growled. "How hard is it to find one measly little red-head in this puny village?" Takashi walked for a while before leaping to another rooftop away from the markets.

"What's going on?" Hanabi asked her sister.

"Shh! I told you to be quiet. Just wait here for a moment." Hinata said as she covered her sister's mouth with her hand.

Hinata then went back to scanning the roofs of the buildings but lost sight of the hooded man. She then let out a sigh of relief as she and her sister slowly emerged from the alley.

"Okay, the coast is clear." Hinata said.

"Clear? What are you talking about? Who were we hiding from-" suddenly Hanabi stopped talking as she had a pretty good idea of what had happened. "Oh, I get it! Now I know why we were hiding."

Hinata looked at her sister with a confused look on her face. There was no way Hanabi could know about the hooded man.

"You saw Naruto amongst the crowd didn't you!?" yelled Hanabi as she made a sinister look at her older sister.

"What? No! That's not-" Then Hinata realized that she didn't want to reveal the presence of the hooded man. So to avoid suspicion, she decided to go along with her sister's cruel joke. "I mean, uh, yes. That's right. I did see Naruto." Hinata did her best to make a guilty look on her face.

"I knew it! You're still afraid to talk to him, aren't you?" Hanabi teased. "Hinata, when are you going to get over your fear of talking to him? If you keep this up, he'll never know how you feel and you'll end up living your life alone."

Hinata felt a little annoyed by her sister's statement about her living alone, but to avoid suspicion about the hooded man Hinata was force to go along with her sister's taunts. "Yeah, you're probably right. I really need to get over my fear of him. Maybe someday I'll have the confidence to let him know how I actually feel."

Little did Hanabi know, Hinata had already told Naruto that she loved him back during the Pain Invasion. She just forgot to tell her sister about that little event. Especially since Hanabi was on a mission during the attack and didn't come back until after it was over.

"It's okay, sis. I'm sure he'll be happy to know how you feel."

The two continued their way through the markets as they finished working on their grocery shopping.

'Strange.' Hinata thought to herself. 'Could that hooded man be the same one I fought back during the war? If so, then how on earth did he survive that fall from the bridge? Something doesn't seem right here, and I intend to find out what?'

An hour had passed before Draiko and the others finally met up with each other back at the rendezvous point.

"Did you guys find anything?" asked Draiko.

"Nothing, sir." Kenji responded.

"Yeah, I couldn't find anything either." said Ayane.

Everyone else told Draiko that their search for the Uzumaki was a bust.

"Dammit! Well at least it wasn't a total lost." Draiko said.

"What do you mean, sire?" Ichigo asked.

"I found out why the Leaf Village looks this way than it did before."

"How?" asked everyone else.

"Well, while I was searching, I overheard some of the villagers talking about some kid named Naruto, and how he saved the village from this guy named Pain. Turns out, Pain was the one who destroyed this village with an Almighty Push attack."

"Almighty Push? You mean, like the one you use when you use your Rinnegan?" asked Kahn.

"Exactly. Which got me thinking, during my time under Madara's service, I remember him talking about how the village he had tried to destroy sixteen-years ago was finally reduced to rubble. I was too busy doing something else so I never found out as to which village he was talking about."

"Ah, so that explains it." said Ayane.

"That's right. I also now remember that Nagato, the other Uzumaki that worked for Madara, had the Rinnegan before he passed it down to me. What if it was him that did this?"

"It's possible, sir." Kahn said. "The Rinnegan is said to have very large destructive powers. Who's to say that it doesn't have the potential to wipe out an entire village?"

"Yeah, you're right." Driako played with the idea in his head for a while before speaking to the clan members. "Okay everyone, since we can't find this guy the old fashion way, I'm going to have to issue a new plan of action."

Everyone had their eyes and ears on Draiko as they waited for him to tell them the next stage in their plan.
