I'm Okay With That

She was standing there. Just staring at me. I didn't know if I had something on my face or if she just thought I was stupid. Either way I called her out for it, "See something you like, babe?"

She scoffed and said, "You're disgusting, you know that right? I mean come on? Who in their right mind scarfs down four foot-long Subway subs?"

"Babe if I could eat you it would be so much better," I retorted with a wink.

"Ewe. Your parents are probably in debt over all of the money they spend on your obnoxious appetite."

"Your boobs are probably tired of being in that shirt all day."

"Your eyes are probably burnt from looking at your reflection only once."

"You fell from the top of the slut tree, and banged every guy on the way down."

"You must have been born on a highway because that's where most accidents happen."

"Good one. 300 million sperm cells, and you were the quickest?"

"Shock me, say something intelligent."

She wanted something smart. So I smirked and said in a flash, "Studies in neuroscience have involved chemicals that are present in the brain and might be involved when people experience romantic feelings. These chemicals include: nerve growth factor, testosterone, estrogen, dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, oxytocin, and vasopressin. Adequate brain levels of testosterone seem important for both human male and female sexual behavior. Dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin are more commonly found during the attraction phase of a relationship. Oxytocin and vasopressin seemed to be more closely linked to long term bonding and relationships characterized by strong attachments."

Artemis just stood there, blue eyes wide and glazed with confusion. She shook her head, her long blonde ponytail moving side to side, turned and walked out of the room. All the while muttering unintelligible curse words under her breath.

I smirked and took the last bite of my turkey sub.

Just as I swallowed I heard a small snort. Turning around I saw my best friend, Robin, shaking his head at me, "Wow man," was all he said as he walked through the kitchen and to the control room.

"Dude. What?" I made my self sound confused as I smiled.

"I don't even think she heard the words, 'romantic feelings' or 'sexual behavior' in that explanation of Biological Love."

"Dude?" I looked at him curiously.

"What? I live with Batman. I have trained ears," He explained as he moved to the computer system.

"What are you doing?" I asked as I snacked on one of my many cookies I received with my Subway meal.

"I'm gonna mess with the tower's radio signals so that every time someone comes in through a Zata Tube the song I'm Sexy And I Know It by LMFAO will play while they're waking into the tower," Robin gave a weirdly Joker like laugh as he typed one of his various codes into the computer.

"Alright, dude, you have fun with that. I'm going to go find M'gann and ask her what she's making for dinner."

"Dude, you know you're in denial right?"

"If I said this once, I've said it maybe like three times, I am okay with that."

Robin chuckled, "Yeah, okay."
