This blog question:

Where do you get your inspiration?

A line, an image, a dream? Where does it come from, and what do you do when it strikes you?

Personally, I can never get inspired by dreams. My dreams are far too bizarre. My first story was actually inspired by the Simpson's episode where Marge writes a book. I have a tendency to take a single aspect from something else I see and write a completely unrelated story on it. I took a quote from a movie on alien invasion and wrote a story about global warming, a few facts from an ad for a nature reserve inspired a story about the progress of the human race. I don't write poetry as much anymore, but most of my poems were based on stories I'd either written or read. I have quite a few concepts stored away that I want to use eventually, though I'm struggling to find plots to go with all of them.

How about you guys?

I get inspired by life. Whenever I feel anything except happy, such as angry, or sad, then I think about why I feel like that, and then I write.
My dreams are far too strange to write about and make it sound good...:shifty:
