It was dark inside the circus tent, Cloe couldn't see very well though she didn't have too. She knew very well who was there with her, the ringmaster had recently decided he wanted Cloe to be a part of the circus act so every night he would train her.
Cloe hated these moments, she would be tied down in the middle of the stage and the ringmaster would try and force her to shift into animals. This night though she noticed he had brought a cage with him.

She could barely make out the yellow eyes of the small tiger inside of the cage, she wondered what the ringmaster was planning, that tiger wasn't a full grown one so she doubted it was trained to attack.
The ringmaster headed towards the cage and opened it, getting out his whip, the young tiger looked around, confused at being someplace new. Cloe watched it, noticing how the tiger looked insecure and scared. Her eyes widened as she noticed the ringmaster lean back and start to whip the tiger.

The young cub growled, scared and tried to swipe at the ringmaster, it wasn't old enough to know what it was doing though. Cloe was confused even more, what was the ringmaster thinking! He couldn't just torture that poor animal for no reason! The ringmaster, however had planned it so that the tiger would attack Cloe and she would shift to attack back.

As Cloe saw the poor cub yelp in pain, she felt something odd in her chest. A foreign feeling, she had never experienced something like that, she couldn't even put a name on it. But she felt like she was burning up, like there was something pushing her to do something and stop that mad man. To stop him and this torture she and all the animals had suffered through.

As she let this feeling feel her, she growled low in her chest, a loud growl. Like the one of a full grown tiger. She felt her arms pull on the ropes keeping her still, as they easily broke apart with her force. And finally as she was free, she felt her body grow and shift into a tiger, an animal that was way to big for her to shift into at such a young age. Cloe let that fire push her forward and jumped straight towards the ringmaster. She let out a growl as she heard his scream, she felt her claws sink into his arms as she pinned him down and growled in his face.

She looked him straight in the eye, and opened her jaw. Ready to finally rid this world of this man. As she was about to finish him off, she felt her collar, that had stayed one through all of this, suddenly start shocking her. She ripped away in pain, growling at everything, feeling the electric shocks throughout her body as she twisted in the ground. Finally the shocks stopped, but she couldn't move, she panted from her spot on the ground, seeing the ringmaster's workers help him up and then putting her back in her cage.

She laid down in a tight ball, feeling exhaustion throughout her whole body, she felt tears down her cheeks. Her only chance to escape and she had failed, she thought as she finally succumbed to sleep.

Welp...that was long xD

This is what causes Cloe to forget her true form, basically when shapeshifter's force themselves to change into something their body isn't ready for they put so much energy into it that they forget how to change back to their true forms. The next day this happens Cloe doesn't remember what she used to look like. She subconciously knows she's blue with green eyes but that's about it. That's why she looks different in her reference :3
