This piece is created to be place in in honor of Black History Month Contest

I know not only just the young but some of the older folks are satisfy of being stuck on not doing better for themselves instead they sit around and want to blame others, I say no! That’s no longer acceptable at all!

Today most of our youth don’t know nothing about what sacrifices that was made it is our job, no our sacred duty to remind our youth, tell them of our past, teach them to do better for themselves and yes to continue this tradition of being a Griot!

A Griot in primitive societies have long relied on oral tradition to preserve records of the past in absence of written records, which was pass down from one generation to the next with the purpose of keeping with oral tradition of telling ones history to date.

A modern Griot is one that does the Oral History which is the collection of historical information about individuals, families, important events or everyday life using audiotapes, videotapes or transcriptions of planned interviews

A griot ( /ˈɡri.oʊ/; French pronunciation: [ɡʁi.o]) or jeli (djeli or djéli in French spelling) is a West African storyteller, praise singer, poet and musician. The griot is a repository of oral tradition.
