I can't believe it's been happening in a country
On the same continent as me;
How had I been living, so oblivious
To Kony's horrific child soldier army.
I'm appalled, to be honest - shocked to my core
For 30 years the world has been blind.
Harsh, lifeless, soul-less black eyes
The unsmiling face staring back at me.
A scraggly beard, a frown on his face
This is the face of a killer, Kony.
Where did he leave to from Uganda, who knows
He is the one person we have to find.
Enslaving young girls at the youngest age possible,
Ordered to fulfil strange, older men's passion;
Living in a crowded place, little food and water
Kony finds these girls and kidnaps them.
Parents killed, kidnapped from their homes...
This horror story blows my mind!
How can he be so cold-hearted, so cruel
To make a little boy play "Soldier" for real:
Forced him to shoot his parents by this man...
I can't imagine how awful that must feel!
A boy of five, solemn face, AK47 in hand
His kidnapper is anything but kind.
And then comes the story of dear Jacob
Lost his parents when he was very young;
Brother brutally murdered with a panga
He was threatened and then handed a gun.
I can't believe we, the world, did not know
We must stop Kony, the evil mastermind.

Campaigns, petitions, websites and the news.
Create awareness, tell all of your friends;
Raise your voice and share your views!

Joseph Kony is a name not well-known to the world, But after 26 years of committing atrocious crimes in Uganda, it is time to take action.
In a basic summary, Joseph Kony, the leader of the LRA (Lord's resistance army) orders for children to be abducted from their homes at night to join his rebel army. The boys, brainwashed and trained to become child soldiers, the girls, to become sex slaves for his officers. These child soldiers are forced to kill their own parents and siblings.
This is not something that should be ignored, and it is unbelievable to think it has been ignored for so long. But no more, with your help Kony's name will be known throughout the world, with your effort we will make the US government take action in persisting with the arrest of Joseph Kony.
Already 100 american soldiers are working in Uganda to find and arrest Kony, but without the attention and passion of the world, they will soon be withdrawn, and Kony will be left to regain his strength once again and continue his crimes.
Do take note, Kony has openly said he commits these crimes for no other reason then to empower himself.
