This page picks up where the dialogue on page 184 left off. As you might recall (and have been likely cursing my name since), Rudy’s dialogue was cut off mid-sentence so I could show Maria and Gavin’s conversation. The pause was intentional, to increase suspense and questions until the very end of the chapter.

But in theory, it will clarify why things happened the way they did.

Rudy’s a lot smoother than he originally seemed…
