Soft growls rumbled from the brute's closed lips. His body twitching in responce to whatever dreams laid within his skull. Paws scrapped at the earth, clawing the soil until muddy streaks were left instead of dew covered grass. Opening his maw with bared white tools, the brute snapped his jaws together. The sound echoed around the male, causing him to waken with a jolt. Golden amber orbs darkened in angry, as the male leaped to his ebony paws. His snarls were a demand in the early morning air. But no one was around, just himself and his thoughts.

Shaking his fur out, Luke lifted himself into his full height and out of his crouch. What a way to wake up... Huffing, Luke again shook out his fur, trying to rid his body of the goose-bumps that crawled up his body. Wetting his lips, Luke looked around his surroundings. It had been one hell of a storm the night before, and the lands around him had changed all of a sudden. The grass seemed taller, the trees stronger, and the air lighter. Everything seemed at peace.

Flicking him tail out of bordem, Luke made his way to the closet puddle of muddy water. Staring at the water for long moments, Luke decided whether to drink it or not. It was just water, a little brown in color, but of course it was only mixed with dirt. What harm could it do. Shrugging, the large brute dipped his crown and drank the water. It's taste was earthy, and definitely dirty, but it was better than tracking all across his territory trying to find fresh water.

Huffing again, the sleepiness finally washed away from Luke's eyes. Moving away from the water, Luke stretched his hind legs; stretching them fully outward from his black body with each step he took. Licking his lips once again, Luke looked around himself again. It was a new day. And with the rains washing away his scent, it was time he updated his territory borders. Picking up a slow trot, the brute made his way towards his northern border.

It took the male a few hours because of his slow pace, but it was worth it. The slow movements felt great, plus it allowed the brute to look around his surrounding, take in the sight of trees, the moutains, the early blue sky. It was all so beautiful. Within in trip, the brute had taken in the scent of many animals, a lot of which he was pleased to know lived here. Deer was a scent that was spread throughout his territory, good eating too. Elk, rabbit, possum, but other than the prey scents, Luke also found the scent of bear, a scent he made sure to stay clear of, fox, coyotes.

The scents filled his nostrils, normally, so many scents would be overwhelming, but the brute had learned how to shift through the scents to find what he was looking for. And for Luke, he found what he was searching for; the scent of other wolves. Heading north, the scents were only getting strong; a female and another male weren't that far. Luke's auds perked at the scent of the female, but flaten whenever he took in the male's scent.

The male's scent was different though, it held a scent Luke didn't know before. It smelt of life, but whether it was a prey scent or a hunter scent, Luke couldn't tell. The scent was forgien, odd, an abonination. And becuase of that, Luke resented the male as well. Something was different about the male, and Luke was curious, but not that curious. Moving away from the male's scent, Luke made redirected himself toward's the fea's scent. Perhaps she was someone to play with?

While on his path, Luke spent time leaning against trees, rubbing his fur onto the rough bark. Lifting his leg, Luke also left his musky scent for others. This was his territory. Luke spent the rest of the day marking and scenting his borders.
