PirateLotus-Stock is the account of Erin, Piraty Stock Mistress! As part of our Stock & Resources Project Educate week, we scuttled her ship and tied her to the mast til she answered our questions!
What were your first artistic influences, and did they have a hand in the development of your resources?
My dad majored in art history, and back when he was in school in the dark ages, they had hardback textbooks, so he actually kept them. I used to look at them, especially his Rembrandt book. Rembrandt is still my favorite painter. I don't think that consciously influences my stock, but maybe on a more sub-conscious level...I don't much like modern themes; I tend to want to do stuff like pirates and Renaissance costumes when I shoot model stock. Olden timey stuff.
Whats one of the most rewarding aspects for you as a resource provider?
Probably the same thing that it is for most stockers: seeing the amazing things people do with my resources!
Whats the one thing you find the most frustrating about being a resource provider?
Do you have a favourite resource in your gallery, can you tell us why its a favourite?
Probably "Alley 2" I dunno, I just love it. It's not the best technically, but I think it's a cool photograph, and I like how grungy it looks. Plus, I remember being there when I took it, and I love Venice! Also, "Rock Stock" I really love again because I think it's a nice photo. It's my most popular stock, and I think it's because the colors are attractive and stand out in the search results XD We were driving down a mountain in Colorado, and I saw the rock and just snapped the picture quickly and it turned out great!

Your stock gets used for a huge variety of artwork, do you have any favourites?
God. So many!! Here are a few!
Last but not least, what flavour cupcake are you?
Red velvet with a very thin layer of cream cheese icing. Actually, that's just my favourite kind. I'd probably be something more like a cake made of potatoes and half-eaten by a kitty.
